Days until the season kicks off = 7 Number of players signed since Slade's rant = 0 Will this be a long thread, or a remarkably short one?
Remember when blackpool didn't have a keeper a week before the season started. How did that end up? Lack of new signings aside - how does this look to players like Bauer, you're coming back to fitness and know you're playing in a league below your standard. It doesn't exactly portray an image the club are serious about promotion.
It appears Slade has very little money - why waste some of it on foley? We don't need anymore useless centre midfielders. THD can cover solly at RB as well.
Top 6 budget* * 90% of budget is spent on subsiding wages, the new resident house dj and sport conferences for Katrien.
It occurred to me that the lack of signings is due to Lookman not being sold yet - agree with Don that the Club is absolutely skint to all intents & purposes because RD has turned the taps off. A loan keeper will have to be signed out of necessity, which will break his heart. The 3 early signings & the top 6 budget talk were all about mugging duped into buying STs- very little talk of promotion from anyone at the Club since
I'm so f***** off with things I hope Slade tells the Belgians to 'do one' and they just bring in the Ujpest dude. Absolute nonsense this club.
Genuinly funny. I don't trust the Belgians at all. I loathe them and all they have done. Even when Slade, Ajose and Holmes came in, I remembered last season and expected cheap cr#p to follow. Slade promised (or at least hoped for) 5 or 6 new signings before the curtain goes up, I thought he was being wildly over confident. But even I never thought we would manage to halve the distance to the Bury match and sign no one. Laughable really. We let three keepers go (and one of the two we have is coveted elsewhere) and then expect other clubs who see our desperation to let us have one for free. Katriens evening classes in business management continue to reap their rewards.
I think our worst ever season was when we finished 13th in the old Div 3. If Roland still owns Charlton it's not likely we'll finish that high this season.
There is no doubt in my mind that Meire uses the local media - and particularly Rich Cawley - to try to control the more gullible Charlton fans. Last Monday Rich was predicting "a very busy week" of transfer activity at Charlton - nope. The Club feed him little tit bits on forthcoming transfers, and in return he has to print this sh1te.
