The same as Bony did. I have no problem with that. In fact, this should be our direction when buying new players. Sign potential, or players that are on the verge of big things, then cash in on them if a top 6 club come calling. By paying £15 million for a 29 year old like Ulloa is idiotic, £3 million for a 36 year old in Crouch and possibly £7 million for a 31 year old in Llorente shows how amateurish we have become and that we had no planning process or replacements lined up for Gomis, Eder and Palo.
There's a major difference between the two though, one is worth the money as we can clearly see, and the other is not as we can't even give him away, we have to pay for him to go.
A couple of experienced, proven at the top level strikers and I'll be very happy, provided one is under the age of 28 and the other not resembling a beanpole
99% of the worlds footballers are mercenaries in that regard. Football is their job, of course it's all about the money. If we offer a certain target enough money, he'll sign. Hell, I'd give Bony a £10 million signing on fee if it guaranteed 20 league goals this season.
Please tell me this is taking the piss, so they get one of our best players who scores goals and in return we get someone they don't want and doesn't score goals, I know it is rumour, but even Swansea cant be stupid enough to see this as a possible dream. http://www.footballfancast.com/prem...wap-deal-to-beat-man-city-to-12-goal-assassin
I have stopped worrying now and what will be will be. We appear to be all over the place and just as per usual looking for the cheapest options. If we bring a striker in so be it if it is someones cast off who couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo then so be it. I am losing interest fast in what is becoming a joke of a pl club. Just my opinion.
It does not do us any favours that a Swansea jack player says that stoke has more ambition than us.........How many other possible good signing think the same and are not interested in coming here.....its a bit of a worry...
From the time Bony left till the losing of the following summer window , Gomis as worth revert penny ... 10 goals in 19 Appearences is massive .Its from the closing of the window and Gomis getting his remaining 8 million £ and his 3 million £ wages in the Mid East that he threw his toys out . Remember him shaking everyones hand thinking he was off to the Mid East . As for Ayew , the only thing that will keep him with us is his possible attraction to being # 1 striker. And Crouch will be a great sub IMO .
But 6 goals in the league the whole of last season, four them came in the first 4 games, and 2 of them the entire rest of the season, no matter how many minutes he had, it's a pretty lousy record. He was dropped for a good reason.
That's got to be a bigger piss take than the Crouch rumours? There's only one player Ayew should be swapped with and that's Bony. We've only spent £6 million. Surely we can afford to keep Ayew and Gylfi to bring in a top class striker like Bony to play upfront with these two. What a front 3 that could be.
This is what I'm terrified of. Those sort of bids come in, and we know they'll sell and pocket the money. These Yanks have been nothing short of useless so far, from bringing new players in, to the way the whole buyout was handled.
Sounds to me like someone staying with us http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/2016-17/andre-ayew-sets-sights-on-burnley-3212360.aspx
