OTE="dennisboothstash, post: 9510874, member: 1004929"]This piece deserves immortalising in song really
I'll give it a first shot, but there's far better people on here to actually do it

"Back in the Premier it's the club with no name
It feels good, but not with out pain
We're Hull City, so remember our name
Even though the Allams won't use it again
Na na na na na na etc" ...repeat[/QUOTE]

Unfortunately the artist with no name is no longer with us to develop and enrich this piece.

Point at the Allams (or point to where they would normally sit)

'You don't know what you're doing' repeat loudly

I had a quick look at my membership last night and I could not see the club name mentioned anywhere.

It an interactive membership pack. You have to write it in yourself. It seems they forgot to include the Hull City AFC pen.

Hull City owners accused of 'acting vindictively' after refusing to use club's full name amid row over ticket concessions

    • Hull City owners were denied changing club's name to Hull Tigers
    • Allam family have angered fans by refusing to use the name Hull City
    • Promoted club have also come under fire for not offering concessionary tickets to children and pensioners
Hull City supporters believe the club’s owners are ‘acting vindictively’ towards them by refusing to use the name ‘Hull City’.

The Allam family have long since wanted to change the club’s name to Hull Tigers but saw that move blocked by the Football Association amid fan protest.

And they have again angered the club’s followers by sending out correspondence relating to the club’s membership scheme with no mention of the words ‘Hull City’.

Fans have been angered by the absence of the club's full name on recent correspondence
Supporters’ Trust chairman Geoff Bielby told the Mirror: ‘Ever since the Allam family lost their battle over the name change, they have treated the word “City” like the worst-possible four-letter word.

‘Many supporters believe it is another example of the club acting vindictively towards us.

‘One slogan heralding the club's return to the Premier League says “We're Back!” with no mention of who are back.

‘There's a club badge but the words “Hull City” were removed two years ago. It's the same in marketing and billboards.’

Hull are also at war with fans over their refusal to offer concessionary tickets to children and pensioners.

Mr Bielby added: ‘Some of the ticket pricing is to be applauded but a lack of concessions is a dangerous precedent. The pensioner who sat next to me has seen his current seat near the halfway line increase from £289 to £486.

‘He could get a cheaper one elsewhere but says he won't sit in the corner like a naughty schoolboy when he has supported the club for 60 years.

‘And it has been a matter of great pride that kids around here are wearing Hull City shirts rather than Manchester United or Liverpool. Now the club are pricing out the supporters of tomorrow.’

Steve Bruce has resigned as Hull City manager last week following disagreements with the club's owners
A club spokesman said: ‘Our new prices start at just £9, the best value in the league, and we have also added a period of time for concessions to get access to cheaper tickets before general sale.’

Of the naming issue, he added: ‘This point has been contentious because of our owners' attempts to change the name of the club in the past.

‘We feel the Tigers brand is powerful and use it for marketing purposes whilst the playing name remains Hull City.’

STEVE BRUCE'S OPEN LETTER TO HULL CITY SUPPORTERS
Steve Bruce has penned an emotional open letter to Hull City supporters, claiming he had to leave for 'the sake of the club':

    Dear Hull City supporters,

It was with a heavy heart that I ended my time as Hull City manager on Friday. The four years I spent at the club were among the happiest times of my managerial career.

The first promotion out of the Championship, survival in the Premier League and then the FA Cup final and European football were all fantastic times for me, my staff and my players. The relegation back to the Championship was hard to take but we all stuck together to win promotion through the play-off final at Wembley in May.

If someone had told me the success we've had when I was appointed, I would have told them to give their head a bang. It wouldn't have seemed possible. As a group, we should all be proud of what we achieved.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the last four years and you have played a big part in that. It is rare for a manager to have the backing I've had from fans. It's been unwavering.

I was made welcome from the minute I walked in through the door and even during the times we struggled, I felt the majority of supporters understood how difficult it was for a club the size of Hull City to reach, and then stay in, the Premier League.

One of the abiding memories was the reaction of supporters at the KCOM Stadium the day we were relegated on the final day of the 2014-15 season. They applauded us off the pitch when you'd expect them to have been ripping the roof off.

I think supporters appreciated we'd had a difficult season losing players like Robert Snodgrass and Mo Diame and, sadly, we came up short. Thankfully, we were able to put that right with promotion at the first attempt last season.

My biggest regret is having to walk away but it was a decision I had to make for the sake of the club. The last 12 months have been very tough and it felt like the right step for the club to move forward in a different direction and with someone else in charge.

I desperately wanted to make it work this summer and be a Premier League manager again but, sadly, it wasn't to be. Nevertheless, I've left Hull City with some fantastic memories that I'll always cherish, including just eight weeks ago in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.

I must also thank all the players and staff who have worked with me in the last four years. The role of a manager can be lonely but the support I've had has been second to none.

Special appreciation goes to honorary president Peter Chapman, who played a part in bringing me to the club in 2012. He's worked tirelessly over the last four years and I'm thoroughly thankful.

Best wishes for the new season,

    Steve Bruce

    You know what's truly crazy.

When the suggestion of the name change first came out, I was willing to hear them out and considered their idea somewhat. Obviously I wasn't in the majority there.

But now I don't understand why they are still at it. I honestly don't understand what their problem is. There is no plan so clearly the reason behind changing is completely illogical. It's like they have some unfounded ridiculous hatred of the two words Hull and City. Which is just dumb.

I'm just trying to get behind their reasoning. Is it a question of showing power. The fact that they're not letting go of it. Just a silly quest to prove who's the boss??
Is it a really odd phobia of the word city. Diagnosable by a doctor?
What other reasons could there be? It's clearly not a money making idea so what the **** is it?

Quite a while has passed since the initial proposal and it has faded a little somewhat on both ends but for some reason he's not letting go. To save face?

It's utterly ridiculous. It was fair in my opinion to hear him out when the initial proposal happened but NOW... it just comes across as some outdated, puerile egotistical vendetta and it just looks utterly pathetic.

Even if it showed up on SSN again as breaking news, people would just react like "oh that old stupid idea again, booorrringg"

His only chance was when he first proposed the idea, that was his chance of proving his idea maybe had financial legs but that is ssssoooo gone by now that it makes utterly no sense.

They do have a hatred for the words Hull and City because it also appears in the councils name.
