But none the less it's the only fact we've got. The rest are just rumours, a very high percentag of which turned out to be wrong, exaggerated or misrepresented. I keep saying that we're better focusing on the actual issues, and working out the way to approach it. As opposed to trying to colour all things bad. The successes so far have come abut via a measured approach and a response from the prem/FL. They can only really act on facts. We don't want labelling as boys that cry wolf. That will hurt the Allams far more than abuse, as it makes them irrelevant.
Who says I believe it? Apart from that, it's precisely the same thing, particularly as there was no supporting evidence for the rumours, over and above an expectation from those posting them that they'd be believed, despite past history.
Aint that the truth, unfortunately I`m sure there is no smoke without fire, and some of the stuff posted on here is very close to the mark, but unless you are one of the persons involved in the negotiations, i.e. Allams, prospective buyers, and solicitors, then its is simply hearsay, speculation and as you say certain parties slant on things.
More rumours please, unsubstantiated or otherwise, it's what forums are about FFS. Just ignore them if you think they're tosh.
Rumours aren't always wrong. They can be right at the time, but things change and the situation moves on apace. Some people seem to struggle with that rather obvious truth.
Or maybe they fully grasp that, in fact I've seen that very point made several times, but it doesn't alter the fact that the bulk turn out to be wrong, or misrepresented. Some days it's like Coronation Street on here, with gossip and tittle tattle, that gets coloured in and then spun as fact, with more fiction added to it. Rumours are fine, as long as it's clear that's all that they are, rather than someone trying to represent it as factual inside knowledge.
I agree with that. So much on here is posted as if it's first hand knowledge but the reality is it's picked up from somewhere else on the internet and not credited in the process. The weird part is, certain people who do exactly this state in other posts when they have picked it up from the more popular media, cos they know other people have seen this. It's almost like they're hoping nobody will see the obscure bits that they pick up and people think it's actually inside knowledge.
Yes that's right. My point being - make it a forum rule to be straight about the status of rumours and have the mods enforce it, and the problem will ease of not go away. Don't just grumble about it constantly.
It's not for the mods to do, as such, it's for the individuals in question to have some self control. Some people don't accept that their "fact" is actually just gossip until it has something to substantiate it. It's not usually difficult to spot those sharing information, and those that seem desperate to be first or have a desperate need to infer that they have knowledge. I know which I give more credence to. I tend to accept virtually nothing at face value, and look at a few different sources. It's interesting how that will sometimes bring up a different angle on similar information.
The only way to go through life really. While this forum on the whole seems to shovel down everything offered without question.
