Some good shouts on here, loved Duel & Badlands. Really enjoyed both the Wolf Creek films as well. Anyone seen Hush where the lads girlfriend gets kidknapped by a lorry driver? Really enjoyable.
I was going to suggest the Bob Hope & Bing Crosbie films but thought I'd get slaughtered, there much better than those mentioned on here.
I really like Little Miss Sunshine, lovely little film. I think it fits the requirements for a road movie, as the physical journey progresses the characters go on their own personal journeys to parallel it, etc.
The bit where they're smuggling the dead grandad out of the hospital always gets me, great bit of dark humour. That's one of the things I like about it, it's very bittersweet.
Is that the film where she does that daft dance at the end? If so, wasn't bothered about watching it but it ended up being a really smart, funny film.
Yeah that's the one, on stage at the beauty pageant if I recall, goofy but cute girl in big glasses. Some lovely music on the soundtrack too.
Yeah - have to agree - one of my favourite movies of any genre! Used to love the Smokey and the Bandit films!
Smokey & the bandit? Yeah it's got everything - I didn;t see it until about 3 years ago though and thought "How the hell have I not got into this before!"
No man Natural born Killers. My dad liked Smokie and a Bandit. Funny enough my da's favorite comedy was a road film. Plain Trains and Automobiles. Cracking film. One I can watch over and over.
