Well i have been waiting for the news regards a second quality, tried and trusted striker to go alongside Kojak that is if he is still here in two weeks time of course. Have to say when Tomlin arrived, i thought that would have enticed our priority of a quality striker arriving,if Kojack becomes injured we are well light up front. Really do not see Agard or Wilbs scoring enough goals. I really thought a striker would have been here by now as a matter of priority. To put all our hopes on kojack and Tomlin scoring goals is a risky business. At present without reinforcements i think mid table is our best hope.
Hardest position to fill everyone wants a goal scoring striker going to need movement in other teams to get the ones we are after
If we play 4-2-3-1 as seems likely then he would spend a lot of time on the bench. Can we attract a proven, quality striker if he is likely to be cover? Not to mention whether it is worth the probable £4m plus. I know it leaves us open if Kodjia is injured but it is a tricky situation. Maybe we want options behind JK who will get goals (LT, CO) and the extra striker is Phase 2 in a future window?
I was going to say what about Abraham but **** me, I see he's signed for Huddersfield....??????? No disrespect but, WTF was he thinking...?!!!!!!!!!! That said, the window doesn't shut until end of August, no...?
Where does it say he's signed for Huddersfield? I just googled him and all it says is he's on tour with Chelsea. Not saying it's untrue but could not find anything myself. Plus this is typical RR preseason thread, he's looking for something to reflect back on when it don't go well for us this coming season.
Not forgetting there is a very high chance we will lose him in Janusry to the Aftican cup of Nations!!
I think that is a nailed on certainty ... Garita is on loan/trial.... AND WITH THE LOAN SEASON BEING AS TRANSFER SEASON likely only until January ? Wes off for a season to Aberdeen so at the mo we have what we have
I'm not sure how much one could equate an upgrade on Wilbraham/Agard to difference in league position (i.e. hypothetically we could finish 7th with a new striker, but 15th without), particularly given that I could see us playing 4-2-3-1 regularly, with Kodjia the sole out-and-out striker, but I do agree that ideally we'd have a new face in - particularly given that Kodjia is likely to be away in January. I have faith that they're trying to find an appropriate target - it's easy to pull up the free agent list and say 'how about Carlton Cole?', but it's unlikely to be that inspiring and potentially very expensive (in wages). I was initially underwhelmed by the Tammy Abraham loan rumours as I hadn't heard of him, but having done (admittedly still quite little) research, he could well be an excellent loan signing. Patrick Bamford looks like he may need to drop back to the Championship also, though apparently Celtic are favourites to get him.
Thank you sir at least you see the bigger picture. We require two strikers really as both Agard and Wilbs are not upto it at this level. Kojak goes of on his jaunts,we are up the creek without the paddles.
LJ has said he would like another striker in, he has brought in pretty much every other position he named and brought quality too. I'm sure it will happen and lets face it.. its not like Red Robin to be impatient is it!
He reminds me of someone who has been granted 3 wishes but then asks for 3 more. We've made 6 signings. LJ has said he wants more signings and the window doesn't close for another month but still he's not satisfied.
