Ok so i know everyones pretty bummed out by the Barton situation, but can any good come out of it?
As much as i Love and respect JB its true at times he can be too passionate and if u are to believe the chronicle (i know they are heavily influenced by the club) JB was effectively sacked after going off on one at the staff and the players because he was frustrated cabeye had taken most of his dead ball duties and shola got captaincy and from what ive read from people at the game prior to kick off he had an argument with too of the training staff. Do we really need a player who is clearly not happy with his position on the pitch? This raises the question if he was actually going to start next season, as ludicrous as it sounds, as cabeye is effectively a younger less lippy version of JB. Furthermore the rumor of Barnetta coming in this transfer window has refused to die away... perhaps clutching at straws but does this mean barton was told he was surplus to requirements? I really hope this is not what actually happened but it doesn't really matter its happened.
Anyway I think if we do get barnetta we might not be so screwed as people think...before people say it, no i am not basing my opinion on the england match, I watch a lot of European football when its on and what ive seen of him he is a real talent and highly rated by most football critics.
He's younger, faster and less unpredictable than joey and in my humble opinion a player on par with joey in terms of creativity. However, losing Joey would also have a lot of cons...without his raw passion and love for the club which he showed on the pitch so many times last season(ie arsenal) furthermore its yet ANOTHER English player we're losing which i dont like seeing as we are an ENGLISH club. Unfortunately it also appears Barnetta is perhaps another "injury prone" play which really doesn't fill me with joy as our squad seems to hang on a thread as it is
but before people get the wrong impression I'm not happy with JB being kicked I think its a decision the fat one will live to regret and hopefully if Barton does leave he will shed light on the shambles which are the hierarchy of NUFC
PS sorry for the long windedness just needed to vent +i haven't really looked at the board much last two days so sorry if this has been done

I just look at what Arsenal and Chelsea fans are saying, they'd take him. Not all of them but a good few. Are we really in a position to be discarding players of this ilk because it'll save a few quid? I hope your right about a replacement, life goes on and we're short on depth of quality at this level. We've ripped out a big section of our PL savvy with Nolan and Barton, this will be tough to replace. Cabaye will need to step up quick but he might just do it. He's hungry as he is on the fringes of the national team. We could really do with some PL experience to maintain the correct balance. I'd imagine there will be no replacement but you never know given we've also moved Routledge on

Not being funny but didn't Steven Taylor criticise the performance at Leeds in the press, so why doesn't he get fined. Oh because he's not a high earner who's contract is about to run out.
