I have to say mate I am not sure on that one ask the Newcastle fans, I don't think he did much there, 0 in 12, but I think he was injured for a period, when I saw him he looked very awkward and 0 pace (that wasn't that often.), but has scored a few for PSV, but doesn't seem to be able to do anything outside of Holland..
The guy was very young when he featured for Newcastle and was used mainly as a sub. Strikers don't come into thier own until they hit mid 20's at least. 26 goals last season and is only 25
None that I can think of, but then we do actually have strikers on the books if you include Emnes and younger players. We are rebuilding the forward lineups, you do that by getting rid of players and bringing in new ones. So in other words it's a work in progress.
Maybe you are right, has done well in Holland, failed in Germany and to a lesser extent here. Not convinced by him, but if he was coming with another then maybe.
I have just read the reports linking us to Ulloa, I am starting to worry if we are pinning our hopes on staying in the Pl on him, then if we fail and go down, no resale value. We are looking worse and worse in the transfer market as time goes on.
I agree it's a work in progress but cutting it very fine considering there's almost 2 weeks until we kick off the new season. Emnes isn't good enough to lead our line and it'll be a massive step up for Oliver McBurnie.
I'd rather use the £10 million and make a bid for Defoe. If we sign him for anywhere near £10 million, it will confirm how clueless Guido and Huw have been during this shambolic window.
Mcburnie isn't good enough either as it stands, we are taking a massive gamble waiting so long. I still believe it will be a cheap as chips average player yet again, which would just carry on from our last couple of windows.
I wanted them to go, but to get rid before even identifying/looking close to signing replacements is just pure idiotic.
Mcburnie has had some good comments but as one for the future. If he gets pushed into the front line now before he's ready it could completely ruin his career.
Borja Baston for me is one of the best targets out there, that will fit our budget,or should I say Huw's wallet........
I don't think we should be blaming the new American guys just yet - they've been involved for 2 minutes. This just stinks of Huw Jenkins and his poxy recruitment of late. It just seems that there actually haven't been any targets in terms of strikers - as mental as that sounds. If Ulloa is a genuine target, why are we waiting to move on this ? Surely the earlier you get a player in the better. What sort of pre-season will someone have if they come in after all the friendlies have been played. I'm really stunned by what's happening.
London Jack we'll have to wait and see this coming season whether Rashford can continue as he started or whether the high expectations get to him.
True, and I am not saying we should chuck McBurnie in the deep end. But if Man U hadn't with Rashford where would he be now?
