Phelan hopeful Hernandez, Huddlestone and Livermore will be fit to feature in next pre-season fixtures...

Caretaker Manager Mike Phelan is hopeful that Abel Hernandez, Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore will all be part of the Tigers’ squad for the pre-season fixtures against Caykur Rizespor and Torino next week.

The trio, along with Shaun Maloney, missed the 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon but Phelan is confident they will be back in contention when the first team squad depart for a mini tour of Austria on Tuesday.

“I think two or three of them will be available for next week,” said Phelan.

“Tom, Jake, Maloney hopefully although he might take a little bit longer, and Abel will be available as well.”

Phelan was also quick to allay any fears over an injury to Eldin Jakupovic. The goalkeeper received treatment late in the first half against Forest before being replaced by Dusan Kuciak at the break.

“Eldin is fine and will be ready to train on Monday,” added Phelan.

“It wasn’t a big problem and in a way it was just a precaution (to take him off). It also gave Dusan a chance to get some more minutes.”

Hope Eldin is ok. I think he's growing into the role. Saying thst Kuciak had a bit to do against Barnsley and looked pretty good too.
Least if we get Abel Jake and Tom back we can field a competitive side against Leicester.

Is it possible for 'a few days rest' to cure a hernia, starting to think the silly season is getting sillier

The fact burnsy actually tweeted that has made him look foolish! It's been mentioned earlier you either have a hernia or a stomach muscle problem? Hernias don't heal with a few days rest!

I see Lesta got beat 4-0 by PSG, though having said that what we would have got beat by doesn't bear/bare thinking about.

Maybe it just 'popped itself back in there' and healed itself up.

On the subject of injuries, I've got tendonitis in my left Achilles. Bloody hurts
