Clichés all round then...Didn't expect too much originality, but dounds like they havent tried at all. Oh well, thats a few quid saved.
Imo it didn't have anything engaging. It lacked the hook that gets you to watch when you think something is going to happen to a character you like.
Hmm, doesn't sound good at all. My least favourite Trek film of all time was the original Star Trek - The Motion Picture, mainly because of it's very, very slow story. If you've seen that and know what I mean, how does this latest compare in terms of enjoyment overall.?
My cousin and her husband have watched it and said they enjoyed it, I am a bit of a trek nerd so I will be definitely watching it.
On my phone so feeling too lazy to link it. But a report on BBC saying a fireman Sam episode has been pulled for briefly showing a page of the Koran. What is the world coming to? Obviously some people are a fan of the Koran and are hurt by seeing it on tv, if it was a Harry Potter page which is a series of books I enjoy, I don't think I would be the slightest bit offended or upset. Maybe even a tad excited!
It's amazing how easily offended people get now...Muslims have been here for centuries without being offended. Have they become hypersensitive (after all the page of the Kuran wasn't being trampled on or spat on) or are people getting offended for them? It would be nice to think that Christians or those of other or no religions were equally nurtured and protected in Muslim countries. .
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/146...fter__racist__entry_scoops_prize/?ref=mr&lp=1 Talking about taking offence...what do you feel about people blacking up if their intent is not to be racist. A group of plumbers entered a carnival as Cool Runnings. I am surprised that an alarm didn't go off in their heads before they blacked up as this is known to be a no go area, but is it racist to try and copy the looks of characters in a film? (Incidentally a really good film based on a true story). Personally I wouldn't have done it, but I can accept that these men meant no offence.
Can't believe you all forgot my birthday. Why isn't it circled on your calendars? Stomps off, stage left.
I thought you'd got to the age where it was best forgotten.? If it's any comfort, mine swings by every year without a murmur.
Yes, but I'm a girl...it's my job to keep you men on your toes by catching you out and keeping you in the wrong.
I just don't understand this one at all, they wanted to portray black characters but are not allowed to put makeup on??? The only other option would be hiring a group of black plumbers to do the float. White Chicks (truly terrible movie) isnt racist apparently and neither was this float as the guys weren't ridiculing anybody, they werent abusing anybody, they were just dressing up in costumes. Possibly an ill advised choice in this hyper sensitive world we live in where some people search desparately for something to be offended by, however I see absolutely nothing racist in this whatsoever - it was hardly the black and white minstrel show was it, no charicatures involved, just people dressing up as other people for fun. Good job they didn't do Avatar, I'd hate to upset a 12' blue alien.
Twitter is overrun with savemarinajoyce whoever that is. Apparently a YouTuber sparked fears of kidnap in one of her latest videos which sent 'team internet' into overdrive with their conspiracy stories and now everyone is a Twitter detective.
Don't even get me started on the appropriation nut-jobs where you can't wear a sombrero in case you offend Mexicans, but it will be good if we could arrive at a time where no offence is taken because everyone assumes no offence was meant. Doubt that will happen anytime soon.
Avatar example - That's just it, you wouldn't have to specifically upset a blue alien, but someone, somewhere, could claim its racist, even if they weren't a blue alien themselves. And then they feel empowered because they are fighting a cause on behalf of someone else.
