"Juve and United are still to agree on a transfer fee, with Juve wanting €120 million, while the Red Devils are not happy with Raiola's demands of €25 million in commission for his work on the deal." http://www.espnfc.com/blog/transfer...ul-pogbas-planned-medical-for-man-united-move LOL.. I want this guy's job. €25 million for few months work in ten star hotels around the the world. Not bad at all.
Monty refers to our greatest goalkeeper of course, and I wish we (SAFC) could debate on whether a player was £70 m coming to our club !, but I can dream I suppose. We are bigger than Chelsea but Ellis short does not think so, so we will linger again in the premier league.
Having just spent £75 million of the £100 mill they hoped to get for Pogba, Juve have to sell him and will have to spend some of the £25m profit to go halves with the agent or risk being seriously out of pocket (and having to sell off more players to break even). RM's offer was made up of dribs and drabs of money over a couple of years, so ours is the only viable bid on the table.
Drop the bid and just go for a solid defensive player. My preferred option would be for JM to work with what he already has right now. The team is flushed with players in the midfield. Not a fan of spend, spend and spend even more.
I am quickly going off the idea of buying Pogba as the whole thing is leaving a bad taste. The attitude of the player is not exactly encouraging for fans considering that £100m plus £20m+ in agents fees are being spent. On top of the £16 m annual wages he is also going to get at least £7m annually in commercial and marketing rights. He is going to cost United the highest fees AND wages paid to a footballer in the world. Even to someone like me who thought the money spent didn't matter that much. This is getting ridiculous.
If I thought he would make the difference for the next few years I could stomach it. The problem I have is that I have seen him in the PL and English cups and he looked way out of his depth. I am told (haven't seen it myself) that he is very good in the slower, less competitive Serie A but fail to see how that makes him the most expensive player in the world.
You could try to force Juve's hand definitely considering their Higuain situation. However, that may impact adversely as well. By your statement Higuain is 73M & Pogba is 75M. That is not going to fly even though Juve made a ridiculous decision of 73M. At the same time - Juve won't feel the brunt immediately because 73M is paid in 2 installments over 2 years. You see they are not that foolish.
And 2 sets of high wages I really, really hope we leave it for Madrid to thrash out a deal with them, Pogba wants to go there anyway. Win win for all
To be fair, I wouldn't judge him by what happened years ago. He was only 18. He has done great for Juve but we all know that Italian league is a different kettle of fish. I think Juve would struggle in England. So it's always hard to tell. Either way, it is a massive gamble for that kind of money. The money leaves zero room for error in my opinion.
This agent fee hold up is bollacks, if , as has been reported, there is something in Pogba's contract saying the agent will get 20% of any transfer fee the surely that is between Pogba and Juve? We should run away from this with great haste.
This is the part that makes NO SENSE to me. If the Agent is serving a player, surely the player is responsible for paying his agent. I have no idea why clubs continue to play agents directly. But hey, football is a nasty money laundering scheme full of corrupt leaders. So one of these shenanigans surprises me. If this deal fails, I think fans and media would drag Woodward's name through the gutter.
Since Juventus have spent so much on Higuin, you should pull out of the deal for a week and then bid half the price - Juventus will be ****ting themselves.
PSG have confirmed that Matuidi can leave the club for £30m. I'd take him over Pogba and save the money
