Amazed at how little coverage the SB affair has garnered. We are PL ffs, even if we are very much third class unfashionable provincial PL. I know it's been said time and time again on here and elsewhere that quantity and quality of coverage is shockingly biased in favour of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchesters & Liverpool (now augmented by WHU and Sperz- how convenient...they're both in Lundumb), but I would have thought the SB affair would have set a few alarm bells ringing, and a proper article would have been forthcoming.... But no.... Most papers and BBC carry the Club Statement unquestioningly, like SB has thrown an unjustified hissy fit and the club reluctantly agreed to let him go. Some silly bastard in the do-called Independent reckoned it was hot-on-the-heels of his England interview knockback. Hello, are all the proper journalists on holiday? Are there any out there who can put into the bigger context of the Allams' mental mismanagement of the club, the relationship with the fanbase, the relationship with the Council, the relationship with the PL and the FA, their botched attempts to sell the club, the membership fiasco, the falling gates, the concession forced backdown from the PL, for their reliably cack-handed timing when it comes to undermining the manager and his players? Is there any local or regional journalist who will get the story from Peter Grieve or his associates, or dig with the Council to get a factual version of what happened between them and the Allams, or who will wheedle some facts out of Peter Chapman? Meanwhile, some kid banned from the KC smashing £10 worth of beerglasses in the George is held up for front page condemnation. Strong with the weak, weak with the strong.........a local media speciality.
Newsflash: We're not news. No one else cares about what's going on at our club. You get the odd cockwomble coming onto forums like this to take the piss, but, no other clubs or their fans give a ****e. Why would they? Big clubs, with big, world class players, who have huge international profiles do attract interest. Local papers? Hah. They need advertising revenue. Their "news" is just a sideline. They're there to make money through adverts. ****ty non stories like you mention get lercals reading the pages, and adverts. Pissing off one of their main advertisers? Not going to happen. Good luck getting them to bite the hand that keeps them going. Our best option is Burnsy and Radio Humberside. Yep, we're that ****ed.
on the plus side, you will be able to write a book about it and then sell it to all those down south that know nowt.
FiveLive now They still don't get it George Riley, Motson, Danny Mills asking Michael Dawson what's going on FFS
And of course, MD's going to give them chapter and verse - end of the show they still won't be any ****in' wiser.
You sound like a scouser. Am I still on ignore from when you used to called yourself City Agro/ Stuart Blampey? Am I?
To be fair, talksports north east reporter Graham Courtney whom was on at 6 this morning had a decent grasp on it......well, if your in the Allams a bellend camp.
Discussion closed on 5Live now ....still not bottomed out what the problem is at Hal. That crazy eccentric Steve Bruce.
Martin Samuel has always had his finger on the pulse Citywise. Would not be surprised if he doesn,t comment in this Sundays Mail. Dont think the Alladyce news has helped all the same
