We got our money back basically for Eder , 269 minutes ...should have been kept . We lost 3 million on Paloschi , just over 700 minutes ...should have been kept To me , both wanted out . We still have Tabano.u 0 minutes , half his wages payed for by loan team . Probably get our money back Gomis ...10 goals in first 19 games , should have let him leave before August 30 2014 if we could have got enough to cover his guareentee...was showing signs of being an arse that summer . Transfers were doing great till Laudrup was let go and Jenkin's and Monk started their " Mess " . When good players were brought in , they sat , when players played bad ..Monk kept playing them ... And Jenkin's let him go on to long , should have booted Monk after Norwich As for Allen and Bony , you can't bring players in that don't want to come . You can blame everyone you want , except for Allen and Bony , but you'd be placing the blame in the wrong place IMO.
Yes because in the next window he could have walked for practically nothing, we would have him for £2m-£3m easily, and by this time next season would have him on a free, but with a signing on clause. If he wanted to come here then he could have said that he will stay until the next window and you will get the above or nothing next year. The best players has all the Aces when it comes to this time of their contracts
How can he be in two places at once? I have serious doubts he was here, the I saw him in the chippy in landore doesn't count. Also a 5 year contract would be attractive to him, no way we would offer that
Wrong...when one or more teams show an interest in a player regardless if he only has a year on his contract his value not only stays the same it can increase like it has with Joe. Joe has no power if Liverpool wants to sell him as he dont want to spend the next year not even in the squad....If that happens then who would want a player who has not played or been involved with first team football.....Even Wales would not want a player not involved for a whole year.....Jenkins had a chance and he blew it. Never mind about Joe now that's gone and i think we will hear some good news and bad news maybe today or the next 24 hours,The bad news is Ayew will join Man city and the good news is Bony looks to be coming the other way. Now whether it is a straight swap i could not hazard a guess or there may be some sort of fee involved because Bony is reported to be on £100k per week and something has to be done about that.......Will bony take a pay cut i dont know...or more to the point will Jenkins pay his wage demand if he refuses to take a pay cut....It all stems on Jenkins again ...will he or wont he....my fingers are crossed that this time Jenkins will do the right thing....
Dai, you don't half speak garbage at times, the fact is there are numerous players who has done the same, for example Robson-Kanu has just done it, Gomis did it with us, he left the club on a Bosnan. And Emmanuel Adebayor refused to leave Spurs unless his contract was paid up. A club cannot force someone to leave and they can dig themselves in and force the issue if they want. Allen didn't want to come here it's that simple, he got a 5 year contract which we wouldn't have done, he got to play for Hughes a guy he looks up too. You are blaming Huw yet again, but Allen didn't want to come here, are you going to blame him as well?
Have to disagree. You expect a player to sit out a year to go the club they want. You mentioned 2 players in adebayor and gomis who are total mercenaries and would happily sit out if they were being paid. Gomis left when his contract was running out but he was still a first team player. Robson kanu was also getting regular football Allen has already been underused and to expect him to take a year long break just in case swansea decide to pick him up for free next year is just bad planning. Maybe the mamager doesnt want him next year. Maybe huys knows hes got allen over a barrel and will pay him peanuts. Maybe swansea are in the pl. He may or may not have gone back to swansea with a lesser offer but no one will know as swansea couldnt be bothered to meet the valuation set.
Rubbish, if the player wanted to come here he would have! Regardless of he valuation he could sit out his contract if he had a mind to, and could have forced the issue in this window. I am not saying Allen would have done it, but a player has a lot of power over his own future, as you can see by those players I mentioned! And you don't actually know if the club did anything over the weekend with this, there has got to be a lot of thought on bringing players in, the valuation of Allen was very high, the amount paid was close to £15m with extras, and we have an abundance of players in the same position, the club probably came to conclusion that it wasn't financially viable. And signing someone for 5 years is madness, there is no way that the Swans would match that.
It's not rubbish...what is rubbish is the way we do things at Swansea......Jinx never offered a better deal.....just think we could have had him for £3m less if Jenkins was not such a prat....Joe was handed on a plate to us and we tried it on offering £2m less......
You don't go there with what you are prepared to pay, you always go in with a lower offer, there is no way would we go in for him at almost £15m that they eventually got for him. And as he only played 8 games in the league last season it was gamble that they were prepared to make, and I don't blame them! Stoke were desperate for a player and paid over the odds for him. I am profoundly glad we saw sense and not jump on a bidding war for a player we didn't actually need.
I think our lack of serious activity in the transfer window is summed up perfectly by the fact we are still arguing over Joe Allen this morning.
We are arguing because some people cannot move on, their whining on here for a player who refused us is quite eye opening.
Rubbish is the way the club is disrespected over things it has done over 5 seasons on a shoestring budget while averaging 10th place .We've had our moments of head scratching the past few seasons on transfers but overall .... Rubbish is the way the manager and the players he has now , without any new transfers (except for a super CHEAP deal on a CB ) are overlooked for their 25 point effort over the final 16 games as if the squad is garbage without overpriced players like Allen being added . Rubbish is how everyone is panicked because most clubs are overspending with their windfall as we continue our practical outlook on spending .The only club with a plus net spending over the past 5 seasons , and getting results and everyone is in meltdown . I want to spend like most on here , just not for the sake of it . Ultimitely , we cut the Allen transfer lose because it was thought he wasn't worth the transfer and wage cost . I realize a lot has to do with Allen being Welsh but gather up your toys and move on . If Allen was so worth 15 million , how come he started only 8 games last season and how come Liverpool never reworked his contract .Great bit of business by Klopp Imo.
I'm not a swans fan. Just offering an impartial voice: Is Allen worth 15m, maybe in this current market as prices are crazy. Was Allen worth 15m when you sold him, i didn't think so and laughed at that figure. This window when you see the likes of an average defender like Tomkins go for 10m and where Brad Smith who's barely played a handful of games and had injuries is going for 6m, i would say Allen is around 15. I was just arguing how a professional player who likes playing football (not your Gomis or your Adebayors) can choose to not play football for a year just so that he MAY get the opportunity to play for a club they would like to go to when that club. With no guarantee they will go for him next year (maybe he will get injured, maybe swans will go down, maybe the americans will turn into the Allams) is just stupid. Swansea have done brilliantly to stay up and they may still do. The reason Allen doesn't play, even if he is worth 15m, is to look at their other midfielders, Milner went to City for 25m, Henderson for 18m a few seasons before Allen (football inflation anyone?), Firmino at 30m, lallana at 25m, Coutinho who is frankly a pretty great but inconsistent player, Gerrard at the time etc. These players all cost more than Allen and are either around the same level or better than Allen As for re-negotiating his contract Allen is refusing to sign one, they have offered him one. Allen probably isn't a priority for you guys, a striker is. Time will tell whether you get one but the clock is ticking and it's always better to get your transfers done early than late. Everyone knows that. It's good for team chemistry, its good for planning and it's less disruptive.
By not coming here, don't you actually get the fact that the players have the aces? He wanted to go to Stoke and not us, you blame the club but not the player
