Surprised no-one mentioned Gaelic football! When I was in Dublin 18 months ago, it was finals weekend. If I'd known that they were on, and that there had been low ticket sales, I would've gone to Croke Park to watch a game as I used to watch the highlights when they showed that on C4. Surprised one of the Assistant Directors at work who is from Limerick and on the Jersey Gaelic Athletic Association committee that I knew so much about it. The other Gaelic sport, hurling is worse than playing hockey against women (sorry, H but I'm only going on the bruises my friends got from a challenge match at school). I had a friend at Uni who could only straighten one of his fingers due to playing hurling as a youngster - amazed Eoin Morgan can even hold a cricket bat.

Nightmare day, got to work, stand alone pc still not working, at least I had limited access via my desktop but could not post on the site AAarrghh! Came home, did my own dinner "memo to self do not pour tomato sauce for pasta into measuring jug whilst wearing what was a white T-shirt" Had dinner, prepared lunch for tomorrow, ironed uniform trews, spoke to the dearly beloved white T-shirt in wash. Now sat down and it is only half eight:) Still got to water the back garden as well!

Fascinating NZ. Do you often have disembodied drill bits appearing out of your walls?

One of those evenings here, make a comment, big flash of light outside, followed by a banging of clouds bumping into each other and the lights flicker and you lose the internet. Try to speak to someone on the phone and you or they finish up talking to themselves. <yikes> Man at the Meteo reckons it will carry on all night, so might try to read a bit of my French homework.

Maybe if I leave the computer on there will be a surge and blow this one up. My insurance company paid for a very nice one last time it happened. ;)

Mme watches Countryfile on the Beeb and they have the weeks anticipated weather forecast. She said on Sunday when they showed the pressure map of Europe that we would have bad weather today and it has turned out correctly.
