I actually reckon Allardyce is soft as **** tbh. Half the dressing room problems you hear about (excluding chelsea obvs) were to do with sunderland.

On match days he always looks like he is going to beat the living daylights out some one when a decision goes against his side.

He is about the right level for England...... perennial underachievers with delusions of grandeur. Might be time the media and the majority of fans woke up and realised we are an average national side with a bunch of over-rated ego's and a smattering of raw talent. Maybe Sam is the one to shake it up and knock some heads together, inject some organisation into the team. Somehow I doubt it as all managers seem to start off with good intentions and then just pick the same old "big" names regardless. Time will tell.

I would like to see an England manager sacked if they fail to apply some common sense. If you pick injured players, ones that have no form and play people out of position (unless in extremis) then you have to get to the semi-finals, at the very least. That would do away with all the nonsense we've had all these years. At my wedding I produced a long list of songs and made it very clear to the DJ that I would pay him nothing if he went anywhere near one of them. Worked like a charm.

It won't happen, of course. We'll be hearing The Birdie Song and Barbie Girl soon enough. Life, eh?

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will determine where Wayne Rooney plays for his country, says new England boss Sam Allardyce.

...aaaaaaaaaaaand there goes the hopes of this being a fresh start. How many days did it take?

Maybe Mourinho's going to bench him? No, I can't see it, either.

I can. In a Mourinho formation of 8-1-1, I don't see how he gets in.

Cheshire's Golden Triangle, apparently. Probably bought from someone else involved in football.

No, no - Moronho's preferred formation is 1-1-8: the goalkeeper, the bloke holding the ball, and the eight players marauding after the referee because he had the nerve to give a goal kick because Rooney just skied a sitter.

It won't be the mock Tudor 5 bed detached the likes of Bryan Robson lived in. Big Brother failures probably live in those these days

Dumbest defence of Allardyce's tactics I've read this week: "What's the difference between Glenn Hoddle making a 60 yard pass and Vinnie Jones making a 60-yard pass?"

It's quite simple: Hoddle would split the defence with a sixty-yard pass to feet if the opportunity was there, while Vinnie Jones et al were following instructions to aimlessly hoof the ball down the pitch all game long in the hope that John Fashanu might get a knock-down for somebody to run onto. The former is a player's individual choice, the latter is doing what the manager told them to.

yard in height before reaching the player" .
