You ask too much money even for the most ordinary players

I don't want to spend unrestricted, but i want to see us buy a striker that will get 15 league goals. That's going to cost around £15 million. Leon needs replacing. To replace Leon will require a top quality midfielder, that will bring a premium too.
Sometimes we have to spend to bring in quality,or are the owners going to pocket the new tv monies?

Fer is second rate imo, there's a reason he was only with QPR in the championship.

Better than our usual trick of paying too much for ordinary players.

We will have to do better this season or he will be off, don't think it'll be you lot though.

Wouldn't get in our team, we've got Gylfi. You can have Gomis though :)

That's interesting why not ask the Liverpool supporter on here who hasn't got a 15 goal scorer in the last season, or the other 5 teams who landed up above us also without one. The point is spending a fortune on a player doesn't automatically mean goals, or have you forgotten Newcastle who spent more than £80m on players and still went down?

And as I said you won't be happy with anyone that doesn't cost tens of millions, because you call them second rate. I for one will be supporting my team and all the players in it next season.

That mong who crawls around on the floor when he scores? I know it's only once or twice a season but not happy with that.

It is not about spending money unrestricted is it though. It is about getting players who are good enough for the team why spend any money if the players coming aren't going to improve things, the going rate for players has vastly increased since the increase in tv money and yet we still want to spend pence on players. We have to move on and if that means spending a little more than we have in the past we will have to do it to retain our Pl status. Maybe some are happy to see us relegated and spend nothing, I don't conform to that. I like many others don't want or believe we will spend 50-60 million, but we are still shopping at poundland and sooner or later it will bite us very badly on the arse.

Eder, Palo, Tabanou, Fer all cheap players we've signed in the past 3 windows, and neither have improved the starting 11. I don't think this new defender will add anything extra either, but I'll reserve judgement on him as I haven't seen him play, although for £2 million, I'm not expecting much.

We were never going to bid for Allen, as I said all along it was there to let fans believe that the Yanks are doing the right things, I doubt very much that Bony will either. We will have to see who is out there on a free or for a couple of million, because that is where we shop.

How does that work then? People on here saying we should spend £15m on a player we don't really need, so spending on a whim! We need to put our resources on players in positions we do need. I said previously that we won't spend more than £20m-£25m on players, we have already spend about £5m or so, imo we have a maximum of £20m providing we don't lose anyone we wish to keep.

If Bony leaves City in this window I think the £8m they owe could go to extra transfers, unless he comes to us which means that money comes off his price. Plus we have options on loaning players instead of buying them, which may happen.

Where I do agree with you is we do need to prioritise our spending, as we do need a striker, I still believe we wont sign Bony and we will again try and find something cheap, which may or may not work. In listening to Guidolins comments I firmly believe he will be playing Ayew up top if he stays. that will mean 1 striker coming in. I still think joe would have been a great acquisition for our starting 11 and would have certainly improved it, it isn't going to happen now so we move on.

We have spent very little on players for years. Bony was our last big signing and Jenkins had to be forced to do that and we made a profit on him. We are not moving with the times and we will end up paying for that and should we lose Ayew and Gylfi which i think we will then put your money on us finishing rock bottom behind hull... We are not poor by any stretch of the imagination and if we cant splash out £30m -£50m on players good enough today then we wont be here much longer and the good players wont want to come here anyway as they see us as relegation fodder...

Gylfi Everton are confident of landing the Icelandic star ahead of other teams who want him...
