The question is BB. should this type of thing receive the type of publicity it is getting ? This is what they want - maximum publicity and exposure. Every year there are around 2,000 deaths on British roads, and around 2,000 homicides in Germany - mostly unreported in the media, and appearing only as statistics. Should we not be starving these nutters of all media exposure ?
I think that it needs to be reported - people deserve to know what is going on in the world - so perhaps scaled down from the current sensationalism would be the way to go. It's just a pity that sensational headlines sell newspapers, as that's what it is all about though. I wouldn't starve the nutters of media exposure as that may only serve to make them ramp up their activities in order to force the media exposure they crave.
I think that with so many having internet access these days it is almost impossible to keep such news out of the public domain. How many times have we seen that a nutter has put something on facebook or similar before carrying out an attack?
Good morning, Dave; good morning, everyone, from a blue-skied Norfolk. So beautiful, this part of the country - is the weather always this hot, Dave?
Morning all, weather forecast suggests temperatures around 30°C for all of the coming week with no rain. It would be good if we could have six hours gentle rain overnight, but it rarely happens. Tour de France over for another year, so will have to find something else to do on hot afternoons. Mme suggests it could be shopping.
Morning all Cooler than recent days here but sunny spells forecast. A bit of TV cricket-watching this morning and perhaps lawn mowing this afternoon.
Sounds good.... I have vacuuming and floor mopping ( not so good with a bad back and a very heavy hoover ;( )
Summer holidays here, so off to the coast is in doubt though, hope to dodge the rains!! Need the season to start, all a bit of nonsense at the moment really, rumours and gossip.... ¡¡Hope all are well!!
We all sound a happy bunch of bunnies (not sure of correct collective noun so went for an alliterative one). Good morning, Dave; good morning, all. Sorry about your back, yorkshire. I've just nicked a muscle in my lumbar and I'm giving the world merry hell about it - good job I haven't your real nasty back. In terms of mopping, I would have suggested this as an effort-saving ploy, but further research suggests it doesn't always work out well in the long-run. please log in to view this image
Morning all, yet another hot day in store. I have been trying to clear some ground that has never been cultivated before, and it is more akin to road works than gardening with no moisture in the soil. Went to do some watering at my daughter's house last night and found that half the plants in my care had been attacked by deer. Although they are such graceful creatures at a distance, they are a pest. I now need to get some materials in and start to barricade her plants in a similar way to mine.
Morning all - quite nice here. We are going out today for a belated anniversary dinner as the restaurant was closed for refurb last week.
