    No, am not advocating 'splashing the cash'; but really feeling, well.... underwhelmed.

    It's still July - every year us and every club talk about getting business done early, but it simply doesn't work like that.

    Like buying a house you end up getting stuck in a chain. Clubs won't sell their important players until they've got a replacement sorted.

    some might disagree but we're not in a situation where we need 5 or 6 new players. Just some tune ups, we have a decent team already

    It's a lot more frustrating when you check in to find another 7 pages added to this thread, only to realise it is 7 pages of bickering about whether or not we need some lad no-one has ever heard of who has been playing in the Estonian 3rd division, and with whom we are not even linked in any case.

    Really, have we hidden Mane's replacement at Staplewood then, cos we don't appear to have sorted one out before he left, unless that person is Redmond . ..

    Didn't Jeremy Wilson say that Redmond was Mane's replacement?

    As another article that was linked said, we have replaced Pelle with Austin, Wanyama with Hojbjerg and Mane with Redmond. We just need a backup keeper so Gazza can go out on loan (this could potentially be a loan move ala Stek last year) and possibly a right back if Martina is moved on. There has been too much hype about Puel and his development of young players for that not to be some indication that we will be using them a lot more this year with the added Europa games.

    My mate is absolutely adamant that there are two signings to come. I told him he was a bullshitter but he was prepared to bet me £50 he was right. That is either bluff or confidence. We shall see. Needless to say I didn't take him up on the bet.

    I like Redmond. He is in no way a Mane replacement, and beyond that, we were far too thin in wide areas last year. When Mane or Tadic were off the boil or injured, our attack got awfully stagnant. I don't think that we'll go into the season without signing another wide attacking player, but there would be absolutely no justification if we did.

    I don't understand your last sentence, there would be no justification for signing another wide player or no justification for not signing a wide player?
