So, at 5.44pm on 7/23/16 (wrong day/date format for Twitter) Martial tweets something that nobody else in the world picked up on (certainly none of his 595k followers who didn't think to re-tweet it) but some numbnut LFC wum thinks to tell the world at 11.51pm. So little thought, but so much beer went into this........

well Martial had just launched his own brand AM9, which is now ****ed, and he's stopped following Man U on twitter since the news.

The shirt number change isn't really a big deal imo - I'd have thought Tony would rather have the number worn by Giggs than the one worn by Saha and Berbatov.

But if the club really didn't tell him in advance that's just inexcusable stupidity. Pick up the phone, give him a call. Even send him a text if he's on holiday, don't let him find out from the ****rags and Twitter.

Wouldn't read too much into him unfollowing the club on Twitter tho - our Twitter feed is spammy as ****. There's about fifty tweets a day, most of which are just marketing crap, tickets for friendlies and our new watch partner or some other BS. I'm surprised anyone follows us in the first place!

I don't know how these club employees get paid so much to make disastrous mistakes to unsettle players. Why take a number from a player and hand it to another without fully making sure that they are cool with it. Also, Zlatan has one fkin year contract. Why upset a player that has way longer future with you to accommodate a 35year old? None of it makes fkin sense. We really do have too many knobs running the club.

The tweet is not real. But all the other elements are. He did unfollow the club on twitter and Facebook and also posted AM9 pictures.

He's still a young lad don't forget, kids can get touchy over little things like this, but I think all the hurt will go away when his payslip comes in at the end of the month.

Apparently his angry ex wife is now besties with the lass he cheated on her with.

Sounds like 11 is definitely the right shirt number for him <ok>

    Yeah right!!

One thing that concerns me is the fact that we signed Martial on a three year contract. Why did we pay that much money for a short term transfer? If he ends up having another great season, he would be close to free transfer before we know it.

What are you talking about? It's a four year contract with the option of a fifth year:

Three years does sound short, with that kind of contract there is usually a 1 year option on top.
I always try to look at transfer fees against length of contract, take Pogba reported at £100m (a **** lot of money on face value), if he signs a 5 year contract that would break down to £20m per season. If you had to buy a player each of those seasons what kind of player would you get for £20m these days? I am thinking a very average one.

If we get Pogba for five deal, that wouldn't be too bad at all.
