Just crediting him with deciding to sign Brady on a permanent and then sell him for a profit to Norwich.

Sigh... he WASN'T a Bruce find. He was a Pearson find.

Bruce may have negotiated a transfer but he wasn't Bruce's find Proschwitz was

Bruce / the club profited from Pearsons finds. How many times do I have to say this before it sinks in?

Brady and Long were Bruce signings that we sold for double what we paid for them.

Maguire, Robertson and Odubajo are also Bruce signings who if/when we sell them will likely go for twice what we paid for them.

Jelavic, Elmo, Hernandez, Davies, Dawson were all Bruce signings who have had a big impact on our side.

You did, I didn't. Exactly. All my case was that he was a Bruce signing. <doh> You were tittering on about Bruce not being able to make good signings and wasting a bunch of cash.

He does waste money and always has wherever he has been.

Ok. My last post on the matter.

Did he waste money on: Hernandez, Davies, Dawson, Robertson, Odubajo, Maguire, Clucas, Huddlestone, Livermore, Long, Jelavic, Brady, McGregor, Snodgrass or Diame?

Did he waste money on: Proschwitz, Sagbo, Diomande?

    Second group: Yes.

    First group: Of course not.

Hernandez and n'doye were panic buys and jelavic had no other offers on the table.

So who was identifying targets, and who was dealing with agents/negotiating terms?

Haven't got a clue but i remember Bruce blaming someone else for the Proschwitz dealings. Maybe a chief scout? Who knows.

He admitted he hadn't even seen him play for himself.

Hernandez was a strange last minute sort of deal. 10 million wasn't it? Althought his first few games he looked good, he faded rapidly.

He said he'd been tracking him since he was at Sunderland.

Maybe Ehaw refused to sign or was unable to recruit Bruce's targets?
Some schoolboy oversimplification going on by some posters at the moment.
Remind me again someone how rubbish Portugal were at the Euros?

I agree, there is definitely, and has been something fishy about signings and dealings.

The Long one, in my opinion was a strange profit making exercise. It said then the club showed little ambition, the way they made a quick buck from the quick turnaround transfer. If we kept long, we would have had a better season i think.

As for Portugal, it is the luck of the "draw". Sometime pure luck and not quality can see you through to something like this. (Sorry to say a bit like the Cup final run, i mean the teams we came up against to beat to get to Wembley.)

It is hardly a waste if the result is promotion? Obviously some signings are speculative and when you pay smallish fees you are gambling at this level, aka Prozzi etc.

10 million on Hernandez was a big speculative gamble wasn't it? I don't think that gamble paid off either.
