and i`m sure he`ll do a good job getting them up if he goes there, no doubt will be backed by the owners
I doubt Brucey wants to go back to the championship. We all know there'll be 3 or 4 PL jobs available come October.
Big club Wolves. Affluent owners and on his door step. He'd definitely take it, plus he'd probably get them promoted. We were in the Championship when he came to us.
He doesn't need the money GLP.... a new owner to British football, lots of promises.... I think he'll be out of football until a prem team come knocking or for a good year...
When City looked like being taken over there were suggestions that Bruce wouldn't be keen to work with Chinese owners (assuming they actually existed) after what happened with Carson Yeung at Birmingham. I'm not saying that's a particularly clever way to judge people, or even that it's definitely true, but if it is true that could perhaps put him off the Wolves job.
I really hope he dosnt get the wolves job or any other job until the transfer window closes as he would probably come raiding some of our players armed with a lot of cash.
There is a simple three stage explanation for recent events, I reckon. 1. The Allams have lost faith in Bruce (they aren't alone there are they? Plenty on this board have said the same). 2. This means the Allams were reluctant to shell out on his proposed signings. They were happy to make approaches while the club was on the verge of being sold, but that changed when the sale collapsed. And they won't spend decent wedge on Phelan's say-so, as he is as tainted as Bruce in the Allams' eyes. 3. The Allams refused to sack Bruce, to avoid a costly redundancy package. After a bit of argy bargy, Bruce made the decision for them. I'm not saying I approve of any of this, but it makes perfect sense from the Allams' perspective. The truth of this will be seen should they appoint a decent manager and back him with funds. McClaren would be that kind of appointment in my view, given aspects of his career history. Apologies to anyone that already posted something similar in the last two days, if that has indeed happened!
But if Bruce had stood his ground the Allams would have blinked first. They have a £100m asset to protect. Unless their plan is to take the money and the guaranteed relegation that will follow. And God knows how fans would react to that scenario.
Some points to your post, McClaren has yet to prove that he is a decent manger despite numerous failed attempts at being one.... he is reputed to be an excellent coach (tactical) ... but NOT a manager... and second, he has already failed a significant opportunity working for a similar sized tit!!!!!
He's already proved himself Boro's most successful manager ever and won FC Twente their first ever top flight league title. He's not performed well recently, but suggesting he's never been a successful manager is self-evidently bollocks.
No I'm sorry. That's bollocks. He took Middlesbrough to their most successful period. And he did a cracking job at Twente. There are clearly negatives on his CV, and he will need to consider why that is, but to say he has never been a decent manager is nonsense.
