Why do we have to spend £30m+ to get a quality CB? Williams is better than anything we've got and he'll end up costing less than half that. The Mackems are gutted about potentially losing Kone even at £18m.

No lol, we don't do things like that at Sunderland. he is on a 4 year contract and believe he is getting paid a pittance. Sam was going to give him a new improved contract but that hasn't materialised as of yet and looks like its too late to do one now. Certainly buy out clauses are a must now for the future, everyone else seems to be putting them in place.
