If Ross leaves what about Loic Remy from Chelsea, currently not getting a look in and that was before they signed there new guy! Wilson in on loan with an option to buy and Remy to replace Ross wouldn't be to bad.
Sustainability Cookie. Remy must be on 2 x a McCormack in wages. The latest I heard was that we were interested in the Ipswich striker Daryl Murphy please log in to view this image Getting on a bit at 33 but he had an impressive Euro 2016.
Crouch would do me if only to get us promoted ,then with the premiership payout we could splash the cash
Apparently we're looking at 3 (yes THREE!) Derby players. Richard Keogh, Johnny Russell and Chris Martin. I'd find it very hard to believe that derby would let all 3 players leave, and certainly not all to the same team. Of the 3 I'd be happy to see us get Russell, I've rated him since his days at dundee utd. Can play out wide or as a striker so another good forward option to have.
Aye, the story started in The Sun and then picked up by the Derby Telegraph http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/der...ham-targets/story-29545968-detail/story.html? It was predicated by us selling McCormack, so I don't know about that. However an unconfirmed rumour is that we have put in a bid for Johnny Russell but it's been rejected. His market value, with 2 years left on his contract, is £1.25m and at a guess Derby would want a sight more. please log in to view this image Agree that the Scot would be a good signing FAB; the right age (26) and with experience at Championship and international levels. Best though, he's attack minded and seems to be one of those players that senses when to make his runs.
A name i would like to throw int o the hat is Ulloa of Leicester who it appears wants away.. Yes i know many would say we cant afford him or his wages, but remember the early days or fMo who would have thought we would have captured the likes of V D S for what 7m. The problem now is our current chairman has not got the ambition of his predecessor. Think small stay small, and lets face facts Mc C is on his way.
Think you may be correct rosc, the stories are now having too many legs such that they can't be ignored. The deal with Norwich seems to be £14m but is staggering over how much is up front and how much spread over installments. My initial reaction is firstly to state the obvious. If this season isn't going to be another one down the drain by October we need to get off to a good start. And secondly, for the last two seasons McCormack has not been match fit until 6 to 8 games in. This season would be more of the same and now might indeed be an opportune time to take the cash for him and run. The concern is whether the money will be re-invested and if so, wisely?
Patrick Bamford is apparently leaving the Dark Side - and not on loan! We're allegedly one, of many, interested. I m big fan of Ross he has been a standout star for us and arguably saved us from relegation but to be honest he will shortly be 30 years old and £13 million is a lot of money, if we got Wilson and Bamford with the mi eye I would snap your hand off right now.
The story mongers now say we're bidding £2.5m for Keogh. please log in to view this image The 29yr old, standing at 6'2" showed a bit of steel in Euro 2016 with Ireland (and the odd mistake!).
With Ross off, and I now believe it's when not if, I'm a big believer in trying to get things done quickly. There are rumours on Twitter that Norwich have offered £10 mill plus £2 mill add ins for Ross but also a few rumours we have bid £6 million for Kodija of Bristol City ( Apparently they want nearer £10 mill). I like Kodija let's accept the offer from Norwich give Bristol what they want maybe try and save a million but let's just sort it.
The Irish Sun say he's staying at Ipswich. Wonder if the only reason McCormack hasn't been sold yet is because the Club (that is, Mike Rigg) can't negotiate a replacement?
Exactly what I have been thinking Cottager, I believe we are waiting on securing a replacement before letting him go. If Kodija is the choice pretty sure we could use Smith as a bargaining tool.
Looks another year quantity not quality, "my view time will tell" Last season up until the 2nd week in November league matches 6 won 6 drew 6 lost not a good start ,. In this period of time we would need to have at least 6 more points at this stage of the season to be in contention at the seasons end Still need a goal scoring C/F and full back.
Do we need a full back? We have Fredericks, Odoi & Malone, along with Ream, Kalas and Stearman who can cover. I'd like a top quality full back, but not really a need. We do however need a goal scoring C/F and another winger. I'm nervous that our 4-2-3-1 formation is far too dependent on Aluko and Ayite staying fit.
Forgot to mention George by name, but my working assumption is always to have at least one player as cover for every first teamer - George can only cover one of them, hence the need to bring in one other winger. Of course, there is also the risk George gets kidnapped by Wales at some point and Mr Rigg doesn't realise until after the deadline.
Please don't shoot the messenger just passing on info, quite possibly rubbish but Alan Nixon ( sun sports writer) has tweeted Fulham are close to signing a foreign striker for big money, they have been over for a medical and talks in the last 24 hours, apparently more of a Dembele type. Probably a load of rubbish but another fan tweeted last weekend that Fulham were on the verge of spending big money on a striker possibly both know something.
