Of course. If you are in the job at the start of the season then you either decide to leave or are forced to leave then you have still failed to win the title for that season. Simple fact is that he had seven chances to win it at Chelsea and won it three times. Your ITK statements about his decisions have no bearing on that fact - quitting is still a failure.

Same as any other sport - a cyclist who withdraws from the Tour de France has still competed that year. Or would you try and say someone who fell at the first hurdle of a steeplechase didn't really lose the race?!?
