...... or at least book the DJ.

"David Moyes to become Sunderland boss this weekend - and kick start the Black Cats spending. The Scot will replace new England boss Sam Allardyce, with his first port of call being to sanction deals for Micah Richards and Yann M'Vila.
    • The Scot will replace Allardyce, with his first port of call being to sanction deals for Micah Richards and Yann M'Vila.
Moyes is wanted by Sunderland to get down to business immediately

The former Man United boss will be paid more than the £2million-a-year Sam Allardyce earned. Sunderland moved swiftly to finalise an arrangement with Moyes yesterday after hammering out a £3million compensation deal with the FA for Allardyce’s release to the England job.

Pointedly Sunderland didn’t wish former boss Allardarse luck in the job, fuming that they have had their pre-season disrupted.

Sunderland have £5million Micah Richards lined up and Yann M’Vila said this week he wanted to join after last season’s successful loan spell. Moyes will now have to convince him make the move.

Moyes believed the Sunderland job is a good fit, having had a decade of success at Everton, and has been set the task of removing Sunderland from their annual relegation battle and target the top half.

Moyes could even be in charge for the friendly at Rotherham on Saturday afternoon. If not, Sunderland want him in charge to lead the trip to France with games against Stade Nyonnais, Dijon and Montpellier. Moyes will get at least two years to rebuild Sunderland and could get up to £40million to spend from Ellis Short, but is playing catch up with no new recruits so far this summer

I hope this is true, he is in situ for today's game and gets Yann and Micah signed up.

It would certainly change the mood wouldn't it ......... the whole club needs a lift and some focus.

We need M'Vila signed up and other targets chased and announced quickly.

Napoli need a 'give us £15 million or forget Mannone' message sending and we should announce the captain immediately.

The Boro match is a time for the whole club to come together and get Moyes off to a good start in front of a big crowd.

Micah Richards and Yann would be a very good start.

lots of people were saying they didn't wanna sign players who'd been relegated this summer, I wonder what they think of Richards.

Once a very promising player, now he's in the Rodwell boat, will he/won't he?

I think it's stupid to be honest. Good players get relegated every year. Put the best players of the three relegated teams under a decent manager and you'd likely have a top half team.

I think richards is a very handy player.

Quite a few clubs seem keen on taking all the best players from relegated Newcastle, I agree it's a stupid theory.

I'm not impressed with Micah Richards, I would have took him a few years ago but he's been poor since then and looked absolutely woeful against us, last season. If he is brought in as back up, fair enough. If he is first choice right back, I expected better.

Leicester went from a relegation position to Champions League in a season and 8 games. Same players, same squad.

It certainly would help, esp. signing up Yann ASAP.

On reflection, Sam moving on and Moyes taking over could be to our longer-term advantage. Moyes has a big point to prove, and he has a good, fit squad to work with.

I'd take Richards for defensive back-up as he can play RB and CH, but i'd want us to sign a proper right-back/wing-back to go straight into the team.

I think Richards will be back up, for our centre halfs. Moyes likes attacking full backs, he had Baines and Coleman, for Everton.

I can't imagine Micah Richards going on the overlap and whipping decent crosses into the box, often.

Not a massive fan of Richards although can cover both RB and CB so will be a handy squad player.

Rumours were that he turned us down for Villa as they offered him a ridiculous wage and the captaincy.

    Look how that turned out.

At his age think he's been off the coal face too long - not up to speed with todays fast paced game , too slow and will probably be a bit of a liability.
A big no from me - Yedlin is a need in my opinion he's improving and pretty reliable
Richards is not reliable and certainly not improving

Really hope we can land M'Vila. He'll out grow us no doubt, we are a stepping stone. But we'd make a really healthy profit further down the line. These sort of signings help us on the pitch in the short term, but increase our revenue long term. Sort of signings we need to be making. Resale value.

M'Vila wants to be here. Shouldn't be an issue.

Got to say I think Richards with the right manager who can organise a defence would be an asset
