I don't like the tippy tappy stuff either notdistant and that wasn't really what I was advocating in reality. My point is that some Countries don't do the buy them by the yard stuff that seems to be the English way. They can actually pass the ball and are encouraged to do it from a very early age unlike this country who just wants them to be able to run and run all day long. In Spain it's skill and in England it's just effort and only effort. When somebody learns to do both and encourage both then that will do it for me. Can't see Old Sam changing much can you.

Yes there's sense in that Sensible, especially for the pre-teens and tweenies. I didn't watch it but a channel that shall remain nameless was screening a Indian Futsal tournament featuring Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Ronaldinho, Cafu, Luis Vigo and Falcao this week. Maybe something like Futsal is the best way of bringing kids on away from the over-competitive clutches of the leaguse clubs. It's unlikely to help us in the 2016 World Cup though I fear.

Not unexpected this one. 32 years old apparently and quite the experienced man. Need an older head in midfield and someone who can pick a pass. Been told he's yer man for that.

Not one so far BC they are all ours. Reading various sites reporting on what Adams has said allegedly I think there is a possibility of one more permanent signing and then we will be into loan teritory. I don't think he wants many loans given the history of the last couple of seasons and becoming reliant on them rather than our own players. They are too hit and miss with recalls and the like.

You had better buy a program for the Luton Match as will everyone else..

For me now that Gordon Sparks has retired i have to get used to another Guy it won't be the same really.

I think that he said somewhere that he wanted a year out.....so he might be back next season.....when we're in Div 1 of course.

A twist to the opening match is that Vassell ex pilgrim youngster who was at Truro has signed for Luton. We got rid so what price this kid goes and sticks a couple away. It often seems to happen to us so why not this time..

I see that Tyler Harvey has signed for Wrexham which I suppose was a far more realistic prospect on reflection to one of the higher clubs he was touted to be at trialing. I'm glad he has found a club though. I think he now needs to knuckle down and prove he is worth it. I think he is but time will tell.

Wrexham have known better days and did spend a spell at tier two level in the 1970's.....better known as a cup team.....this could be Tyler Harveys level and if he gets regular first team football he might be able to prove he is better than this.....we shall see.

I see Shrewsbury have off-loaded a striker to Grimsby....I wonder if that means Reuben Reid might be offered a contract ?

I think Reid has been sold a dummy by his Agent. He was being touted around as if he had loads of irons in the fire a while back. Now it looks like he might struggle to get anything. Bet he wishes he considered the contract he was offered now. Thing is though I don't think we will miss him. Failed medicals. if that is what he has had, is not going to do his chances much cop though. I do hope he gets something because I do think he has served Argyle well when able in the past and I don't wish him any ill will for not signing. He might have done us a favour.

I read that and have to say I'm a wee bit at a loss to understand why. I get the just in case thing but there are other more worthwhile things to spend what money he has on than somebody who may never even make the bench all season.

Yeh I get that but what are the chances of two injuries to keepers at the same time? If you followed that logic then you would need a minimum of 33 players in your squad = 3 players for every position. I would have thought that risking not having both keepers out at the same time would be a risk worth taking if your budget for players was resticted in the first place. Old brenty must have given him a fortune...........(anyone who believes that must also believe in fairies)

Goalkeeping is a specialized position.....many on field positions are interchangable....players play in more than one position.....Threlkeld is described as a mid-fielder/right back etc.

If a goalkeeper is out injured for one or two months.....the No 2 will take over.....who will be his sub during that time.....remember Cory Harvey is on trial at Torquay.......so there is no one........last season we had Vincent Dorel and James Bittner available.....Bittner is now at Newport C.

The loan system has changed this season.... you can have on loan a goalkeeper for seven days under the new rules....so if you had a goalkeeper out for awhile....you would be in trouble........a third keeper seems to be necessary.....we had one last season.
