Assuming Crook has taken the majority of his information from the Echo article, I don't think we need to worry. Coming from Jeremy Wilson and The Telegraph is when I would be concerned.

 

That would be, uh, curious to say the least. It's not like we don't have areas that can be improved beyond backup GK and RB, and it's not like we don't have the money with which to do so.

 

Hojbjerg replaced Wanyama. We probably had too many strikers so Pelle leaving was always in the cards. Or, you could look at it like we pre-replaced Pelle when we signed Austin.

So that leaves Mane. Which is quite a doozy. But IMO, that's the only major acquisition we need. There is a balance the club has to strike between not panicking the fans or lowering player morale vs telling the whole world your business and giving them leverage. But as of now, there has been no major meltdown so I think the club is just playing it close to the vest.

But I do think one major acquisition might be all we have planned.

I think we might well grab some youth for down the road, but those deals aren't going to be ones that garner press. It'll just pop up one day that we signed some 19 year old for 2m. Or we nick a "backup" like Bertrand or Romeu. They are not going to be what the press consider a "proper" transfer. I think the club is honest in that they do not even have a player or particular position targeted as far as that goes. Just sort of window shopping, and if you see something that looks good, buy it.

 

Unless we signed Redmond to replace Mane

 

As much as I like Redmond, that possibility is just too worrying to comprehend.

 

We're going to have a pretty young squad next season at this rate, which is a tad worrying but at the same time exciting. Worrying for inexperience and decision making, but exciting in terms of hunger and commitment. Hopefully the older ones Jose and co can keep it together ,looking foward to next season now !

 

I feel like Redmond fits our system well so that's why we signed him, and we are still looking at replacing Mane.

 

People need to chill.

 

I feel we need one more winger, a rb and a GK. I think that jack stephens is going to be 4th choice CB and isgrove will get some games.

 

I bloody hope not. Isgrove is ****e.

 

At the moment we're going to have roughly the same squad as last season and that has plenty of Premier League experience. Not sure luck of experience is anything to worry about.

 

You keep saying that Beef but I don't see anyone particularly stressed here.

Not yet. Give it a few more days of no transfers and some will go up a level. What I am saying is people need to not worry and just see what happens.

Worrying that he doesnt feature in both pre seeason tours.

 

To be fair to the lad he played well for Barnsley when I ever i watched him, but that definitely is his level, he's no better than that.

 

I will be very disappointed if we don't replace mane and sign another striker. Essentially relying on long to play every game and Redmond to fill manes shoes. Risky business.
