I really thought he would see it out to Paris, but can understand the reasoning why he pulled out. Let's hope he can get the medal he craves in Rio.
He just has to not fall off. Even a mechanical will see the peleton respect his position and slow down. Barring a crash he is safe. it's all about two and three now. Adam Yates is the real hero at the moment.
Unbelievable ride of Chris Froome, to be down on the first sector, purposely keeping something in reserve for the final sectors, just shows how high his confidence is. As said by Stan his to lose now. Credit also to Adam Yates who is performing fantastically.
Incredible after nearly 100 years of nothingness to think we're on for 4 of the last 5 tdfs being Brit won. Would love o see Yates and Porte o n the podium too
Froome crashed on descent but recovered. Mollema crashed on ascent and not recovered. Froome may lose a little time, but should be ok still.
In fact he increased his time over the 2nd place, so as long as he recovers from his fall OK, then he just needs to stay safe tomorrow.
Quintana in 3rd just feels wrong, he's done nothing this tour but sit on others' wheels, attacked maybe once and that's it, fair play in the end i suppose tho
Congratulation to Geraint Thomas who won the 70th Criterium du Dauphine. Great ride, and especially the emergence of Tao Geoghegan Hart who rode wonderfully and looks a great prospect.
Still taking a while for UCI to make their mind up about Froome. Thomas could step into his shoes if Froome got any sort of punishment / ban?
The word is no decision on Froome until after the TdF . Absolutely ridiculous how long this is taking.
Adam Yates finished 2nd as well Pretty sure it was Adam and not Simon , that's a pair of talented brothers there
