If I am honest and we were going to go for Allen I wouldn't have signed Fer, they are saying we have maybe to many midfielders now if we sign Allen, why sign Fer?
Fer was brought in to cover in many places and as a set piece and corner kick specialist for certain teams and scenarios . Allen , Ki , Siggy , Britton and Cork are one dementional players and don't bring the " Jump Ball " ability Fer does . Regardless of what else happens in midfield purchases , Fer will get his minutes and at 4.5 million...is a bargain . Same as Van Der Hoorn , you don't win player of the season at any top flight team in any country at 20 years old during the team's best season in decades without potential .......and on the cheap .
How many goals did Fer score from corners or free kicks with his head, none, how bad were we at defending set pieces even after the arrival of Fer, the worst in the league, so that worked well then.
We conceded more goals from corners than any other side in the league. Others have noticed it to. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-city-bad-defending-set-11042975
I realise that, but where are the statistics that show we are the worst in the league, and it's not just corners but free kicks and throw ins. You can't just look at one aspect and say we are the worst

It certainly wasn't from Fer's effort that set piece goals went in . I saw him win lots of them . He isn't a total answer to set piece problems but he is a good start , as is Van Der Hoorn .... A problem Guidolin said had to be addressed after the season and is being addressed by these to transfers. To try to heap our set piece problems on Fer is .... Well ....
No I am not trying to heap it on Fer to the contrary, you said he was brought here to sort out or should I say help in set plays, well to date he has failed along with all the others defending them, show me where he has improved defending them.
So how many of those are from when Fer was with us and playing? That's why I'm after the statistics behind this. Also Sky says 12 set pieces
The only stat that is relevant is just over 700 minutes played by Fer , What kinda effect could he have . But I seen him win more headed balls in those minutes than most any of the other midfielders won all season .
E“We have to make sure, as always, that we play the market well and get value for money and players that suit us. Does that include Eder, Gomis, Tabanou and other earlier ones such as N'gog, Schecter etc. Do I need to go on.
I rate fer and think it's no coincidence that our fortunes changed one he was in the team. He's a useful squad member and if we get Allen our midfield is sorted for the season. Siggy * - ki Allen *- Britton Cork * - Fer Reserves Fulton King
QPR bought him for twice as much as we payed and he was the only one scoring goals down the stretch as an attacking midfielder ... At about the same rate as Siggy . Plays very well as a defensive midfielder as we witnessed . Played the better part of his season in holland as a right back also . I'm very happy to have valley pet " Kick Around " on the team .
