I heard whispers that Bruce was in with a big chance of taking over at Sunderland, but I dismissed it as nonsense. He's now 10/11 to be come next Sunderland manager, this couldn't happen, could it?
It sure could, there's rumours on both the BBC and Sky websites that he left Hull this morning......aaaargh
I actually think It would be the end of football for me if we got him. Surely the fans would be in less uproar if we got Carver! A flood of outside bets would have been made during the initial Bruce leaving rumours. Dont think it'll be based on people 'in the know'......yet. I think Martinez at 25-1 is worth a flutter mind.
Moyes odds have come in to 6/4 I think Bruce is leaving due to the takeover, they said it won't happen until the window shuts now, so he's obviously had enough. People putting 2&2 together here and making him Sunderland manager could explain why he's odds on, but that shouldn't make Moyes' odds as short as 6/4.
If this is why Allardyce has had that smirk on his face for the last couple of days, then he's really stuck the knife in!
The problem was that the American consortium agreed to a 100 million price BUT the current owners (The Allam's) then said they wanted another 6 million for the Stadium Management Contract (currently owned by the Allam's). (The Stadium is owned by the Hull Council). The Americans walked away. This was like selling a Rolls Royce and then saying that if you wanted the steering wheel then you'd have to pay another 6 million. Apparently the Allam's are notorious for doing deals and then upping the price at the last minute.
Not trying to wind you guys up, but there is a rumour that he is on his way up here for an interview?
