I instantly just see Johnny Rotten. Wasnt one of PIL first songs 'this is not a love song'? That was enough for me.
Passing out to manic racket. Been there. So many good affiliated rappers to the Wu. Got the Wu-Chronicles albums which is made up of said associates featuring some of the full members and It's a wicked Album.
There was loads of them wasn't there, they were class. Reggie was top boy, probably up there with Nas as the GOAT for me, as a rapper.
Well there's ten main members but I honestly couldn't say how many affiliate members there are. Got to be somewhere close to 100 when you count singers and groups as well as rappers. New York has a very deep pot of god rappers. I had a Wu Live DVD and there were over 40 on stage.
Yeah, I'd go with 100 as a nice round figure. It'd be a nightmare being their accountant New York has a list as long as your arm mate, incredible talent and it just keeps coming, I've never been able to get into the UK/grime rap whatever it is, the closest being the Audio Bullys. Gonna get chased out of here soon.
There a few Dizzy tracks I like but yeah, uk hiphop/grime ain't my scene. But then we struggle with all black music. There wasn't much in the line of Soul or Funk coming out or Britain in their hay day. I mean northern soul is so british but all the artists were still yanks. Seems Ska/two-tone is the only black music genre to produce quite a lot of british artists.
Can't knock our boybands though We tried a bit of Reggae too, UB40, weren't they from Doncaster or something?
I don't spend much time listening to music nowadays, I used to have it on in my old office all the time. Now, 25-30 mins in the gym, I switch between about 20 different songs, for the past two years at least. I struggle with my gym play list cos I need it to be motivational, loud, there's not that much out there for my taste.
I've know boxers who say this album is perfect for work outs. They do a lot of running though. Manic album.
That's so far away from what I listen to but I don't mind bloc party as it happens. Here's a few just to give you an idea of what I listen to, probably ****e to a lot of folk but it's what works for me when training.
Ah, block party is little bit more high intensity, more up tempo. Beastie Boys should be perfect for you marra with the sort of tempo those tunes are showing
Got a few Beastie Boys on my iTunes yeah, I've got a wild collection for the gym, some people would think 'wtf' if they got hold of my phone.
