As a maritime waterway, the Bosphorus connects various seas along the Eastern Mediterranean, the Balkans, the Near East, and Western Eurasia, and specifically connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara. The Marmara further connects to the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas via the Dardanelles. Thus, the Bosphorus allows maritime connections from the Black Sea all the way to the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean via Gibraltar, and the Indian Ocean through the Suez Canal, making it a crucial international waterway, in particular for the passage of goods coming in from Russia. A common mistake often made by foreigners is to assume the Bosphorus is a river, when it is, in fact, a narrow sea channel. Idjit !
Oh look, the resident smart arse has struck again. He is now lecturing us on how to spell. Durbar, I don't know what your purpose is on this board but there has never been anybody who moaned as much and came out with such smart arse comments on every subject as you do. If you think that is clever, you need to think again. If you think you are smarter, more educated than everybody else, you need to have a serious look in the mirror. This is a message board for QPR fans to discuss all things QPR, talk about the games etc and show a bit of respect for other people's views on all subjects. I have my doubts you even support this club in any way. You live in a fantastic city like New York and you seem to spend such a lot of time here making these weird comments. Do you think the rest of us are impressed with what you have to say? Just wondering. .
Just admit you got all wrong and nothing more will be said. By the way I guess you consider Russia an Asian country as most of it is Asia!
Like Turkey, it's both European and Asian surely? Turkey is hugely split between the moderate, mostly secular European part including Istanbul and the more Islamist, pro-Erdogan, generally less educated rest of the country who have been helped by some of Erdogan's policies. I doubt he'd ever be elected out.
Well Bit of a sweeping statement Wats. Erdogan's party did get a massive (in UK terms) 49% of the vote at the last general election, but (slightly) more people didn't vote for them. Let's hope they get a chance to have a free election again. I won't hold my breath. This is, yet again, a religious v secularist fight, Erodgan thinks he can harness the religious crap for his own ends. He'll learn the hard way.
The smart arse comments continue. Not totally unexpected I must say from somebody so shallow as to judge people on what nationality they have or what job they currently hold. I consider Russia to be European because the culture of the vast majority of people living there is European in outlook. I definitely consider Turkey to be Asian as the culture of the vast majority of people living there is Asian even though a small percentage of the country is physically in Europe. Do you think Turkey has a Northern border with Greece or only with Bulgaria? We are still waiting to hear whether you think the rest of the posters on this board are impressed with what you have to say. You are a great man for asking questions and trying to ridicule people but not so good at answering questions yourself. Lets see if you can answer without being such a smart arse.
If bodrum or fetiye? Can be considered representative then I think turkey is more European than Asian
They are holiday resorts Kiwi. Go to the big Turkish cities like Istanbul and Ankara and they feel very Asian.
What the hell are you talking about? First of all I never said Turkey didn't have a border with Greece, I also never said it didn't have a border with Syria, so what? You can consider Turkey to be only an Asian country, or the Bosphorus Straight to be a river as much as you like, all it does is show how much of an idiot you are. To loose your rag over someone pointing out your errors just goes to show what a child you are.
No, you only said it had a border with Bulgaria. You have pointed out nothing to me, Only shallow children refer to somebody's nationality or somebody's job as a way of trying to ridicule people. Guess what, that ends up with such people being ridiculed themselves twice as bad and I promise you, I will ridicule you every time you come on here and post your bullshit.
The "not606 QPR rolling EU referendum poll" spring to mind? Do you remember a mod speaking to you for referring to somebody's nationality along the lines of, "who would want to be Irish" as a way of ridiculing? I know you have a habit of going back into threads and changing what you said and then play all innocent about what you said originally. I know exactly what I am talking about sunshine. You might fool some people on here, but you don't fool me.
