... cameos from Demarai Gray and Jeff Schlupp last night demonstrating just why both are considered to be key components of the club's very bright future ... both young, both still maturing ... both will get better and better over the next few years ...
Watched the second half, and I know it was only a pre-season friendly against Oxford, but Schlupp was the best player on the pitch. Interesting to see him operating on the right-hand side, obviously as he's always been on the left side of the pitch up to now, but he was doing a similar role to Mahrez, orchestrating play, scored a great long-range goal. I actually think he's one of our best long-range finishers, it's just when he gets into the box that he becomes brainless. Liked the look of Musa as well, there's some serious pace in this side now with him, Schlupp, Vardy, Mahrez, and Amartey. Gray and Albrighton are no slouches either.
Schlupp proved against Swansea how important he is to us. When Vardy was missing he stepped up Yes we have since signed Musa but when our style is built on speed you want to be adding players to compliment that not taking them away
.. the doubters really need to think about why West Brom are trying to get him and why they are reportedly going to come back with a double figure bid ... which I'm confident we will also reject ... get the distinct impression that Ranieri loves Schlupp .. knows that he can come on and make an ipact (think west Ham) or step when picked to start ... he has never let us down.
@GaryLineker Match report: @OUFCOfficial 1 @Lcfc 2. Demarai Gray will be one hell of a player. Ahmed Musa looked Vardyesque. Excellent acquisition.
Schlupp is very much like Lloyd Dyer in the sense he either rips his opponent to shreds or has a shocker. There isnt much in between
I see him as Lloyd Dyer mark 2. I see him as an upgrade on mark 1 but I'd like to have seen Lloyd in the last 2 seasons to see if his pace would have caused opposition problems.
