The top scorer in the EPL last season, dropped out the first team and didn't even make the SUB bench during the CL final.

Even Sir Alex Ferguson isn't afraid to simply cut players out if they're acting up and refusing to give in.

Barton has to stay or i believe we're in trouble this season. I wouldn't be too worried if we were bringing in a replacement, but i can't see us doing it.

And for you to say Barton was only looking good because he was our only creative player is complete nonsense. He was fantastic last season because that's what he is FANTASTIC!

Also, what's your problem with Tash? Always seem to have a go at him..

Not the best example to use though is it. He's such a good manager of personalities, the ****er has only went on to stay at the club and worship the ground his boss walks on. As I say for all I might not like the red faced twat, he knows how to mange players and egos.

Was Charlie Adam not fantastic too? The same applies with Barton. He was the only proper play maker we had in the team. Yes we had good players, but none with those qualities, hence why he stood out more than the rest.

How do you know it wasn't a tactical issue? I would suggest the reason Berbatov wasn't on the bench was because he doesn't work hard enough off the ball, which is vital against Barcelona and he also isn't very good when he's being closed down and doesn't get much time on the ball, which is what Barcelona do to opposing player.

Wayne Rooney came out publicly saying he wanted a move away from Utd, stating that he didn't feel the club were progressing, but he was awarded an improved contract and convinced that the clubs ambitions matched his own. Now obviously there's a huge gulf in class between Rooney and Barton, but you could argue that Joey is as, if not more important to our side as Rooney is to theirs.

Basically what i'm saying is, Pards really should have sat Joey down and had a word, and all this may have been avoided.

Oh yes we should all have the same opinion shouldn't we..............................

Just like your standpoint and Chappaz is nothing to do with a love of Ashley, mine and many others standpoint is nothing to do with a hatred of Ashley. I believ the club has created an environment where unrest will breed. barton has obviously gone to the extreme but there is blatantly something wrong with the management of players in our football in my opinion. One could be an axe to grind, several suggests there is a problem. Why do people come on forums if they only want people to agree with their own opinion? Takes all sorts.

It's complete truth. Which other player last season had anywhere near the same kind of creative qualities Barton does? Name one.

And he his fantastic, but we have a team of quality players (plus new players like Cabaye to replace him), so he isn't vital to us avoiding doom.

Because he doesn't listen to what he doesn't want to hear and his responses are extremely aggravating. I love him really though. He knows it.

He's at one of the biggest clubs in the world though so it will always be different. Barton is a top player at our club and could easily play for far bigger and better clubs on a regular basis. Berbatov can't.

It preceded months of Barbatov having very little first team action and just a few sub appearances. He was the number one goalscorer last season alongside Tevez.

My point is, sometimes players simply don't deserve first team action, and they need to learn that throwing hissy fits won't work. Just like children really. They get cut out, and once they improve their behaviour, they're allowed back in.

I was arguing the fact that he compared Barton to Scholes.
    Totally different characters.
I'm not really arsed about Barton. Good player but only had 1 good season in 4 + the fact he's been dragging the clubs name through
the dirt all summer. Man up and shut up.
The club will move on without him.

Whilst Barton is technically our best player, and as people have already pointed out, you can't start slagging off your employers, and expect no repurcussions - it's like us going into work and slagging off our director's business strategy to the whole world, and even though we were right, we would not last very long........

Barton - great player, and I am sure he will walk into most teams - hope he is successful elsewhere but not against us - roll on the next episode!

If anyone wants to see how Barton isn't as intelligent as he tries to make out, his pointless rants are utterly destroying his reputation even more than it has been before. Every single news article is just painting him as a player who brings a LOT of trouble to the club.

If it wasn't for the fact that he's now free, I think NUFC would have struggled to sell him.

Exactly. This isn't rocket science. As much as it pains me to say this, Joey knew exactly what he was doing. Engineering a rift with the club, while at the same time telling us how much he loved us all. He's paid very well to kick a ball, not slag off his employers in public.

I don't even think he knew what he was doing to be honest. I think he's just that daft he let's his mind run free when his temper flairs up and doesn't even think for one second what the repercussions may be. It's sort of just like how he's been with all of these bad moments in his life, except this one just doesn't involve physical violence. That's the only difference.
