Very good list and hard to argue with.

I would say lyrically Nas smashes all of those albums to bits. His lyrics were groundbreaking due to how true they were at the time. He wasn't just rapping to make hits he was rapping to make a movement, that's the difference.

Once you've struggled through the first 4 it gets very good.

Yep, watched the first two. ****ing brutal programme.
Really annoying that Sky haven't put it on the Boxsets. So having to wait weekly like a chump. I'd have been onto S2 by now if it was left to me.

I used to watch it years ago when it was on really late at night (seemed late as I was young, I think!) - I'm sure it was on channel 4 back then.

I ended up buying all the boxsets a few years back. It's classic boxset stuff. Love it.

Watched a really good film 99 Homes 8/10

    https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/99_homes/

Critics Consensus: Fueled by powerful acting and a taut, patiently constructed narrative, 99 Homes is a modern economic parable whose righteous fury is matched by its intelligence and compassion.

Ramin Bahrani is a top director. Seen Man Push Cart, Chop Shop and Goodbye Solo - all excellente - but not seen this one

The new Star Trek film gets some very good reviews. I've seen a few saying it's the best of the three new ones.

I love all of it, but the new ones have been great. It's amazing how much they look like the originals, but are great actors as well. Having said that, Simon Pegg doesn't really resemble the original Scotty <laugh>

For me its not so much. I'd say the new one have been good by action film standards and thats what the new ones are 'Action films' set in space. Far too much flash and bang and not enough science for it to be Sci-fi.
Not to mention the constant ****ting on the Star Trek History by Abbrams, who was the wrong person to take over, as he himself admit to never liking Star Trek.
Thats whats the most disappointing, they've lost the drive of Star Trek, which is to be Sci-fi with a proper sci-fi story. Feels to me they've been dummed down too much to appeal to a wider market.

There was Star Trek for Trekkies, there's now Star Trek for all. Might not be great for the fans.

I love Trek.. ( currently making my way through the 70+ episodes of the original series) again.

Liked the first reboot film and a lot of the second film if not a bit long and gloomy..don't mind dark but it went a bit flat in parts.

All the reviews saying this new one, while plenty of action in it is closest yet to the original series in content and style.

Going to see it on Saturday lol..

New series been commissioned by the way no details about when it is set but not thought to be post TNG etc...

I finished 'The Five' last night - Started off very well, dipped in the middle slightly, ended brilliantly.

    8/10

It's a one off series of 10 episodes on Sky BoxSets.

That's not really hard to do. It's like serving maggots on plate 1. Feces on plate 2. KFC on plate 3.

No matter how bad KFC is its going to still beat the first two plates.

The acting is so cliche in the reboot. Yeah, it was in the original a too but it just seems cheap and cringeworthy when campy actors mimic other campy actors. They should have gone with a brand new crew.

The storylines have been bad too. A bit too unbelievable... More space fantasy than sci-fi. No social narrative (all good trek had a social narrative). JJ just doesn't handle "deep" or plotlines.
