Where people have had a chance to vote for Corbyn's Labour Party the labour share has increased. In the London mayoral election Sadiq Khan got the largest share ever in that particular election. I don't know why more people would vote that way if they didn't think it was a better way. There are now two major parties that have very different solutions for the problems that we face. I think that between now and 2020 more people will realise that Corbyn's Labour is the correct way to go and despite the efforts of the mainly right wing press to discredit him and the digraceful efforts of 170 or so Tory-lite MPs to remove him from the leadership he will be the leader in 2020 and will win the election

I think Tobes just posted a link to a survey showing how 'popular' Corbyn is with the general electorate!

As I said earlier, he may be popular with the current membership of his party, but outside if that, his support hovers around zero.

He also has zero chance of winning a GE. I'd bet very heavily on that!

It was an ICM poll that showed that Labour are only 5% behind the Tories, the narrative of the Daily Fail's story was shown up as being BS when they actually quoted some stats.

Contrary to all the 'unelectable' soundbites, Corbyn has increased the share of the vote, increased the number of party members by hundreds of thousands, won every electoral battle so far and successfully beaten down Tory attempts to punish the poor even further. I wonder how long people will continue to swallow the Murdoch peddled BS, or will they actually look at the facts for themselves ?

If he retains the leadership of the Labour party I will actively campaign to get him elected as Prime Minister at the next general election. But without much hope.

I have quite a high opinion of both Hilary Benn and Chuka Umunna. If you're going to condemn the latter (presumably by association with the last Labour administration) at least get his name right.

It needs people like yourself to elect him then, and prove the 'unelectable' tag wrong <ok>

I'm with you mate, it will be an uphill struggle trying to get him into power, but the thought of another Austerity sympathising, corporate arse licker leading the Labour party just makes me think what's the point ? We've got the Tory party for that.

I think they'd get slaughtered at the moment. The Labour party needs to sort it **** out and that's going to take some time.

IF the meltdown within the Labour Party hadn't happened post-referendum and there hadn't been an attempted coup, and things were as they were a month ago with Corbyn, do you think your answer would've been different?

I'm currently hoping May doesn't call a snap election, and I certainly don't think Labour is in a fit state to fight one.. I don't think she will anyway, she may rightly feel that the country has little appetite for months of campaigning.

That said, every single prediction I have made in the last year, on politics, sport and the weather, has been wrong. So anything could happen, and hopefully some good will eventually come out of all the chaos. Democracy in the UK (and beyond) is undergoing a crisis that may turn out to be necessary for it's rejuvenation.

Why are they in a mess?

And why after a year of another Tory Govt, a Govt that has overseen the calamity of the referendum and everything that followed it, in terms of their own party, would Labour still be slaughtered?

You've answered your own question mate.

The Labour Party is busy disembowelling and dismembering itself.

Corbyn has to accept a large proportion of the blame for that...

Labour with Corbyn or even Owen at the helm will mean Tories will increase its MPs at the next GE.

UK people are not socialists in general but more center ground. But more important neither candidates look like future PMs

It's The Excess, Sky. I don't think you need to read it, it's all tiresomely predictable...
