Our sub goalie is coming on to play in the outfield as we have no one else to bring on. Could liven it up a bit

hope Lucas is not to badly injured, can't afford to loose players to injury before the season starts

Markovic does not look like a player who is trying to impress.

2-0 to LFC second penalty put away by Moreno after Kent brought down. Would have been good to let Shamal George take it.after

You did ok, looked every bit as good as Huddersfield and you had a lot of young lads playing.
Arnold looks like he could turn out well, Gruijic gave the ball away too easily but will get up to the pace of English football, Karius will win you many points.
All said, a good run out for gaining match fitness.

    Didn't watch so no idea.

Not watched a pre-season since N'Gog and Voronin looked liked world beaters.

Even though we ran out of players and had to bring on some big kid from the park.

So you never really watched it then Diego.<laugh>

Or did Utd "look every bit as good as" Wigan despite beating them?

    :bandit:

Whilst these games are necessary they are as a rule boring as ****.<ok>

Yep, that will be something he remembers for a while :emoticon-0100-smile

I will repeat something I said on the Chelsea board after commenting on their first half (turned over after that to watch you lot).
There was no hidden meaning in my comments, we are all playing pre-season friendly's in an attempt to get match fit and try some systems, the teams are made up with 50% or more kids. They are what they are and at the moment most of the games I have watched the teams have done ok, nothing more, nothing less. I expect nothing in these games but always hope some young lad will make his mark.

I did watch it, all :emoticon-0100-smile
United v Wigan was also ok, nothing special but worth the watch to get some idea of fitness and possible formations <ok>

Yeah, it's good for the kids to get a chance to show their potential.
These games give little indication of the season to come, but they give the managers a chance to look at their players in a more competitive situation than the training pitch.
I missed the first 20 minutes of our game, but from what I saw there were some pretty hefty challenges going in. The second half wound down completely.

Yeah, but televising them live and bigging them up cons the supporters that turn up expecting a game like a cup tie with full strength teams.

But yeah these games are of significance to managers and players more than spectators/viewers

Mane was the stand out player in the first half, you have a "good un" there.

These friendlies in a international tournament summer are only ever for the young and the useless to give a message. Lfc had English players back today and Belgians back tomorrow morning. When we fly off to the USA the real work starts.

    For me....

Firmino and mane do look like they've developed a little understanding. That's only to the good.

Matip and lovern played a few together.. again for the good

Karius finally actually made a save. He showed his was decent off both feet too.

After that what did we really Learn?

Lfc have 3/4 kids who are decent. Ejaria, woodburn and grujic in their own ways all looked good. Kent and Alexander Arnold also looked good.

We've learned markovic isn't bothered too much and I think has been told and all.

We've confirmed randall and Stewart simply ain't up to it...

That's about it. Klopp packed in prob 2 more games than wed normally get by now. That's his way.

It's done young lads no harm but it's weeded out a couple, even who are brittle and I'd be worried on matip now.

Generally positive there. Not all positive but he's a go forward player and improves us.
