Sam does and as Tel says he was our saviour last season who has been offered his dream job. He gets my respect and good wishes, but I just hope he survives the Press.
Blaming the press is the inevitable cop out for England managers ....... in truth they can't cope with the FA , club managers or bored players.
If Sam has any sense he'll be dropping Rooney like a hot potato! Reet - swift half down the pub for me. Night all...
I hope Sam does well for England, he's achieved a lot in the game and got **** all to show for it, even if he doesn't win a tournament it'd be good if he could give us a national team to be proud of, for once. If he can't, so be it, he can't be much worse than that rotten old pigeon Hodgson.
The England job was probably Hodgson's lowest point in his career. Same goes for Taylor, Hoddle, Keegan, Robson, etc ......... Allardyce will regret going anywhere near the FA.
He has been ridiculed in the press for years for his "long ball game" he was not good enough for the "we are england" west ham then all of a sudden he is the dogs bollocks. Why - because he is English and the ONLY valid english candidate shame he cannot see what will probably happen with the southern grease balls who will make or break him but I am SAFC so f**k Sam and The FA
He obviously think this is his way to prove everyone wrong Sacked after a year and replaced by Wenger in reality.
Probably - i think he is going to have to be outstanding to keep the wolves at bay but He does not concern me now I move on to what happens to SAFC
I'll try my best to avoid his cringing farewell speech ......... " .......... wonderful club, great supporters, wish them all the best, dream job, place in my heart, blah fiicking blah." Yes Sam, that's very nice now just fiick off eh?
I'd also like to say this hasn't changed my views on England. I'm still indifferent to them. It will prick my ears if one of our lads got a call up but I'll be more rooting for the player than the team.
In addition to saving us he has done some impressive wheeling and dealing to improve the team in the short time he was here. By memory, I believe you called our team a bunch of useless whatever during diCanio's reign and blamed them for poor results rather than the madman. i think you need to step back a little from condemning Sam.
And I think I don't. I have no interest in the England set up and think it's a managerial graveyard. I think Allardyce is chasing some impossible dream and swapping admiration, at Sunderland, for ridicule with England. Which leaves my club worse off and England no better off ....... how is this a good thing in any way?
"We are aware of the intense media speculation however at the present time Sam Allardice remains SAFC manager and we share in the anger and frustration of our supporters and are working to conclude the matter in the best interests of the club" On sky yellow sticker at the moment Appologies if I have mistyped any of that
Failing to get the job ten years ago has not soured him and going back to it tells me he has integrity and belief in himself. He appears to be well thought of in the game despite his so called critics who usually condemn his style after they had lost to his team. Would love to see him bring the WC back to shut everybody up.
And that's my problem with the whole charade ........ there's absolutely no chance of that happening and he'll be sacked.
