The FA have come up with the usual tripe preseason and given refs new instructions

In other words the days of surrounding a referee after a contentious decision could be over.

This new initiative is as yet unnamed, but has been backed by the Professional Football Association and the League Managers’ Association. I have decided to call it the "Rooney rule."

Yellow cards will be issued to players who:

    • Show visibly disrespectful behaviour to any match official
    • Respond aggressively to decisions
    • Confront an official face to face
    • Run towards an official to contest a decision

As we all know wayne only runs when he's got a ref to abuse, is constantly in their face and often shouts like a drunken touretts sufferer at them.

We can only conclude that there is some exception for the england captain or he would be sent off every game.

There's also a change to the offside rule.

    http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/afdeveloping/refereeing/law_11_offside_en_47383.pdf

It is an offence in itself to be in an offside position.

A player is in an offside position if:
    • he is nearer to his opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second to last opponent
A player is not in an offside position if:
    • he is in his own half of the field of play
    • he is level with the second to last opponent
    • he is level with the last two opponents but not level with the last opponent
    Commiting an Offside Offence
A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, or other officials (including pundits) involved in active play by:
    • interfering with the balls
    • interfering with an opponents balls
    • gaining an advantage by being in possession of the opponents balls
    No Offence
There is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from:
    • a goal kick
    • a throw-in
    • a corner kick
    • a drop ball
    • a free kick
    • Wayne Rooney
    Infringements/Sanctions
For any offside offence, the referee awards an indirect free kick to the opposing team to be taken from the place where the infringement occurred as long as it's on the negative side of the play and does not give an advantage to the opposition and/or Man Utd.

They should also change the "dubious goal rules" a goal keeper or defender or any player is unlikely to score
    willingly against his own team.

They should just make it an offence to be an ugly get.

That's probably the right response to a lot of it, I've been creative with the text.

    See below...

    • interfering with the balls
    • interfering with an opponents balls
    • gaining an advantage by being in possession of the opponents balls

I saw that bit, and it was obvious you were pissing about. <ok> I wondered if I was missing something with the other bit.
I followed the link to the pdf but got bored rather quickly.

To be fair I thought this was already a rule, just not evenly enforced.

I've seen people carded for being an area before. Kicking a ball away in frustration or arguing with refs occasionally get a yellow card.
