http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14366574.stm interesting information here. but they did miss one important thing. visiting fans dont have a choice of ticket and have to pay whatever the club decides. if i remember right, the only condition is they cant pay more than the home fans.
Well spotted E-B! I heard it on R4 and was gonna start a thread. When you say 'they cant pay more than the home fans', that doesn't mean the cheapest seat though!
However Leeds's cheapest day out is cheaper than ours. Quite surprised to see that our cheapest day out is actually the sixth most expensive in the Championship. I think the prices all round are getting pretty ridiculous, but when you look at some of the prices in League One and Two the prices are pretty good all round, now lets get them prices into the Championship!
The prices in the ground have always been a joke, especially since there is no hot food worst eating, and the club keeps hardly any of the money (if any at all) from the concourse.
£2 for a pie at Blackpool! cant go wrong and only £1.10 for a drink at Watford .. **** knows why we charge so much
We do have the joint second cheapest most expensive ticket though. I wonder why we have such little variation between cheapest and most expensive?
Fair play to Watford for being the cheapest day out. Again i echo someone else has said, can't believe how much we charge for pie and drink. 5th dearest is pretty poor going.
Spare a thought for teams going to QPR this season - £67 for Cat A away ticket, and Bolton game is £50!!!! The bubble must burst soon...
cheapest day out is a bit presumptuous in that it assumes I would need the pie , drink and programme - don't think so (but i know what they're trying to get at - the overall expensiveness)
I agree. The NPC should have a max fixed price of £25. Just our luck that the first 2 away games are at rip off clubs like Ipswich and Leeds. £31 per match. Are Ipswich still paying for Bullard and we all know that Pappa Smuff is selling off the family silver to pay for his life style. £4 for a programme is big (my first ever was 3d- old money) but if its a good read then i am happy with that. I take my own pies to games. Cheaper from Woodheads and wrapped in silver foil.
If Ipswich's tickets are £15-£59 and Leeds are £20-36, how come we have to pay £31 to go to their place? Thieving bastards(particularly Leeds, £16 for kids ffs).
They can get away with charging less, as they don't worry about generating any income for ground maintenance.
although we are the 5th expensive for the cheapest option according to this, the most highest price tickets are amongst the least expensive. It's probably because the facilities in are pretty much the same anywhere in the ground. It does the suggest we could look at restructuring to bring in cheaper seats in some areas and upping the prices in others. but more significantly THE PRICES DO NOT MATCH THOSE PUBLISHED ON SOME CLUBS WEBSITES. I went to the Ipswich site. The cheapest adult match day prices according to their website are £27.50. The most expensive are £59.50.
I think some of the clubs have not answered the questionnaire accurately and have included their cheapest season ticket prices, rather than match day prices.
The cheapest tickets on the Watford website for their first two home games are £26 and the cheapest single seats at Bellend Road are £31. so I think some clubs are including concessions, or special offers or telling porkies. These prices are from their websites today.
with you on that one. if i wanted a pie i could get one for 60p from asda and take it and if i wanted a drink i could take one. ridiculous suppositions. most people eat at dinnertime and teatime and dont need to feed their faces in between.
It includes any regularly run promotions, it's why one of the PL sides has £10 tickets for adults despite them only being available for some of the games.
