Lucas was never pacey and his speed has really gone down over the last couple of years. Flanagan is Liverpool's version of Dummett, never really going to develop into a great full back but does a job and has the occassional miss-hap. Both would be quality signings for the Championship, but I'd rather have them on loan so we can give them back at the end of the year and increase the cash proportion of the deal.
So most places reporting just cash deal of £25m....which would be an absolute steal for us, if you exclude the Norwich, Liverpool and Spurs games, there's no doubt he underachieved for us, and has never gone up £11m in value. One can nearly done then, just gotta get £35m for Sissoko now....
There was a spanish News paper reporting that a 30 Million Euro bid had been declined by Newcastle. The bidding team...... Barca! I dont believe it for a second. It's amazing these Journo's get paid to write such nonsense.
I see Sissoko has given himself 10/10 for his performances in the Euro`s.!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA. He was good overall, 8/10 perhaps, but 10/10. What a CNUT. The price is £40 million now mate, as you are sooo good.!! I really want him to be forced to stay now, to prick his inflated ego balloon.!!
did he only start in 2 games ?? that's about as much effort he did for us all last season the 2 biggest whingers to get away at the end were the 2 biggest dissapointments from last season and despite Gini's home goals both did nothing but steal a shirt
That is beyond harsh on Flanagan. He's a very tidy full back and easily good enough to hold down a slot in most PL teams outside the top 8
There's no way i see us getting Lucas, Flanaghan and cash for Wiji as i can't see the players themselves agreeing to it. Understand it would be good for the clubs though. Lucas would be great in our midfield. Him or Colback? Uh huh. Flanno is a better full-back than any we have (assuming Janmaat goes) and if it pushes Dummett to his rightful position of substitute CB then all is well. Realistically we will get 16-19 million for Wiji.
Looks like a done deal now. from .com... The route from St.James' Park to Anfield is a familiar one, previously travelled by Magpies from Albert Stubbins to Andy Carroll, Alan Kennedy to Terry McDermott and Peter Beardsley to Jose Enrique. And by the time Liverpool depart later this week for their pre-season in the USA, they anticipate that Georginio Wijnaldum will be on the plane. The Dutch international arrived on Tyneside after a £14.5m transfer from PSV Eindhoven was agreed 12 months ago and will depart for a fee of up to £25m - claims of a part-exchange deal seemingly incorrect. Wijnaldum will undergo the formalities of his medical before being presented as a Liverpool player in the coming 48 hours.
There hasn't been a bid from Liverpool despite what the media sources are saying. He's been told that he's staying and no-one has come in for him. He will be with us at the start of the season.
He will not be playing tonight and that's a big indication as is Hanley's exclusion from the Blackburn team. Given our record everything should be announced on Friday, the club love a good Friday announcement!
Done deal £5.5million. With Gini, Townsend and Sissoko going for a combined total of approx £60+ million and with our additions we still have plenty of moolah for a few more signings and to still abide by the FFP rules. Everything looking OK so far.. Well Happy
