Cheers Obi. It's interesting to get an alternative view to the situation. Sadly, in a vacuum some leap to the worse scenario when there could be equally relevant alternatives. If it is all over, no doubt the Americans will be the best chairman we never had.
Unless either party confirm what price was "Agreed" and when we will never know. But you can speculate.
That's exactly what I've been thinking. I'm going to wait for some properly official like I usually do.
You mean the "final price" before the hiked "final-final" price. I would surmise the Allams gambled, as an afterthought, that the American consortium would not baulk at a 6 million quid hike in price given the exchange rate shift.
Can't believe the Allams were happy to throw it all away because they couldn't get the extra 6m. They could have backed down and accepted the original agreement price.
That clears it up. He runs an anti Allam organisation, who just happens to know someone who knows a multi millionaire American, who just so happens are buying the same club his organisation is trying to get the current owner out!
He actually doesn't. If you listen to the interview he says that protesting against the clubs is at odds with what the Supporters Trust is meant to stand for - namely, supporting the club.
Let us remember however that we had speculation that contracts had been exchanged and the Allams broke their necks to release a statement scotching the idea. We now have rampant speculation about the Americans walking away because the Allams kept moving the goalposts because the thought they could squeeze out an extra £6M. The Allams response is silence. Believe what you want but the silence only a week after their speed to put the record straight speaks volumes to me.
"I can't believe the Americans walked away from a deal which would have saved them $8 million even after including the extra £6 million for the SMC." If you don't have all the facts it is easy to make bold statements.
