OH flower of Scotland, always great support like the irish and mostly welcomed throughout ,the England team are a joke like the fans who believe all the hype time after time only to fail .
I look at the names on the FA pay role and i can only see failure im afraid with a huge cost to boot.

Ian Watmore for the new chief of the FA would go a long long way in repairing the damage. Mind you , he's far too decent a human being for that role.

    Always mate..

Been a massive drift that way, mind you Roy Hodgson hasn't helped, from the man that told a load of strangers on the tube why he dropped John Terry to looking like the clueless prick on the touchline 4 weeks ago, I'm surprised anyone bothers with them anymore..

I always support my country, be it football, rugby, cricket, whatever. I love this country, there's a fair bit wrong with it, a fair bit of dross live here, but there's no place I'd rather be. I go abroad four times a year but I always like to come home.

Just about says it all for me, my only interest at present is because of Sam, if/when he gets the job I think he's letting himself in for loads of crap from the media about the same time as England play their first World Cup Qualifier, I wish him all the luck in the world cause he's going to need it.

Yes you do, you use the red felt-tip on Tuesdays and always circle the numbers. It takes you that long to do it, you miss most of the numbers.

I could list reasons why I don't give a **** but it would take forever, from ****ting on the European golden boot winner to completely obliterating grass roots football and everything in between. The England national team is just FAFC to me and I can't stand em.

Not with you Bri. There's plenty of leagues in the North East for ages 6 to 18. All schools play football, plenty of academies, specialised schools such as Brian Honours?

I have not supported England for years. The reason is simple really its not because they have mainly been crap, as I support SAFC, and they have mainly been crap but I support them just the same. No the reason is for years England has not represent me. No Defoe this year, if you did a pole of fans in England 70% plus would have taken him. Two years ago AJ (I know) would hane been a better impact sub than all of the ones he used. Bent left behind until he took Capelos advice and left SAFC for a bigger club { did wonders for his career ) SKP golden boot in the whole of Europe 30 goals in the season (all in the prem ) how many caps did he get. How many did Monty get, was he not better than Phil Parks or Tony Waters or Peter Bonetti Tueart never capped until 3 months after he joined City Go back to Clough The fastest 100,150,200, And 250 goals in the football leagues history, He was also the best manager England never had. I hope you get the drift England DO NOT represent me Hence I DO NOT support then...

For me it all boils down to player attitude and the nation to look at is Germany. Most Euro nations have the same setups of academies at age levels and all coaches are qualified via the UEFA accreditation system so the only thing that does not match up is the final attitude on the pitch and what pride you feel in representing your nation. The Germans have that in spades as playing for the national team is the ultimate goal.

Managers will come and go and will carry the can, but multi millionaire players from expensively assembled teams are the final representatives of our sport. Changing that attitude will take some doing unless they are bombed out all together and hungrier players are found.
