.............. the National Team, quite a few years ago despite going to 2 World Cups.

Whenever I mentioned it I took a fair bit of flak about being unpatriotic, etc .... fair enough.

So I wonder if anyone has changed their minds about the FA, the managerial situation and the team.

After all the FA ignored Allardyce's opinion that Defoe should go to the Euros and now they think he's the best man for the job.

In reality he's only up for the job because Redknapp is too old, Howe is too young and Wenger is unable to get out of his Arsenal contract.

I'd lost interest in 'England' but now a little hatred is creeping in.

How do you mean the FA ignored Alardyces recommendation? I don't think the likes of David Gill and the other plonkers picked the 23 man squad.

Whether he'd have made any difference is another debate, but the blame, either way is at the feet of Hodgson, not the FA.

I try my hardest to hate England but I find myself following them and excited for the games during the big tournaments. It's self abuse really.

I lost interset in them years ago but hate the whole set up now.

In the old days we had players we respected like Beckham, Shearer, Gazza,Lineker etc (in my era). Which made them more passionate to support.
Theres not one player i particually like or respect now. They all seem and look bellends!

England, like Sunderland, will always be home and as such will also be important and highly meaningful to me.

There was rumours that McDonalds/big sponsors were forcing some teams to play big names on the pitch as part of the deal.

It's defo not as transparent as they try to make us believe but I still think the squad selection, is Hodgson's responsibility, he didn't have to take Rashford.

You only have to look at the likes of Wilshire and Sterling now and it goes to show how much our squad and future squads are. Apparantly Kyle Walker got expososed tweeting a Playgirl during the Euros saying hed rather be in ibiza with her than with the England squad.
    Says it all to me!

Rooney played a big part in killing my interest tbh ....... throwing his dummy out at the England fans who'd spent fortune supporting the team, playing like he'd obviously rather be on the beach and expecting to be the centre of attention. He set the tone that the others have copied.

The Golden Generation with a wig ffs <doh>

    They're all tossers really.

Managers, coaches, players, wags, snotty rich kids, cry to mummy to call in sick, Raheem needs his bobo's...

We should select the next England squad from league one at least it'll be funny.

Money mate, that's what I'd say it is.

Crap coaches from grass roots and too much money.

Young kids aspire to be footballers for different reasons now imo. Cars, champagne and sluts.

Once they have the money, the 'job' becomes a burden.

It would be hilarious if Sam took the FA down the garden path, stringing them along then turned them down when they offer him the job. But I can't see it turning out that way now.
So I'll just have to add the FA gimps Glenn, Ashworth & Gill to the hate list - just below Jimmy Hill <laugh>

Whoever takes the England job is on a hiding to nothing, as soon as it starts going slightly wrong then all these know it all ex players and managers will suddenly change their tune and deny that they said he was the best man for the job. The press will dig up all the skeletons from the cupboard or just make up load of crap about his personal life.

I started to lose interest in England after the 98 world cup there was the Euros with Keegan in charge and then the 02 world cup and I just thought that the players were more interested in image than playing for their country. The FA are a bunch of self important a**eholes and unfortunately I feel that while the "old boy" network is in operation we have no chance of progressing in a major tournament
