Someone's just posted on Twitter that Bruce is being interviewed by the FA today.. anyone heard anything?
Surprised they'd interview on a Sunday, but if so, good luck to Bruce. There's a good article in the Daily Mail Online by Martin Samuel about Bruce, his track record, his thoughts on England and so on.
Allardyce. While he seems the top choice if you're going English. The press will be licking their lips dragging up all the dodgy deals he did and use of agents. The FA dont like scandal. Pardew. Far too much baggage. Gambling problem. Touchline altercations. And a ****. Howe. Didnt like it at Burnley doubt he'd cope with the scrutiny. Brucey. If they're going to go for an English manager he ticks the boxes. Experienced. No scandal. Well regarded in the game. Klinsmann. Reckon he wants the job. Do we want a foreigner? I dont.
Probably just a follow up on the "he left the game early yesterday" news. So what? he had seen enough, had asked for the players he might want to use over the next 2 weeks to be taken off, so why not get off early. Don't see the FA working on a Sunday?
I'd expect a candidate to have had recent success at a top level, and to have shown some tactical flexibility. As a defensive coach he might be thought of highly but as an all round one it's a huge stretch. And most here would think that. And I think many around the country would be shocked.
Bruce is too nice to be England manager. Needs someone who'll kick the ****s up the arse and take no ****.
I was surprised to read that it was by a head hunter rather than the FA. If that was the case, what a waste of money hiring these people to interview people they already know. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/england-manager-head-hunters-interview-8444827?
I would love Bruce to go, simply to leave the Allams in the ****. Happy to spite my face. Bit of a stretch for him I think.
Well, this tells you all you need to know about SB & his relationship with the current Hull City regime - fractious. The end is nigh for either SB or the Allams - if you were the owner of a club and the manager has willingly been interviewed for a different post, it does not bode well for the owner & manager relationship. Something has to give, soon methinks.
I can't tell if this is sarcastic or not, I'm going to assume you were being genuine. This is the ****ing England job. I'd expect Bruce to want to talk to them! Similarly I'd expect the same if Man Utd, Arsenal or Chelsea etc did. He probably won't ever get another chance so why wouldn't he?
Can everyone stop the 'oh Bruce wants out' rubbish. Its the England job, any Englishman would want the job. He won't get it anyway.
