Ibrahimovic played for PSG, Odemwingie played 7 games for Bristol City! Hardly a comparison. I was just pointing out the age similarities.

Bruce trying to make the best of a bad situation and fair play to him, little to inspire so far but with those clusterfucks running the club what else can he do if he's got to try get 8 or so players on a supposed champo budget?
Yep, first transfer I've been reasonably happy with. Hopefully we can announce a couple soon, as Sane and Robson-Kanu seem to be almost over the line.
I didn't realise Odemgwingie was 35 and played at Bristol City last year. Not a signing that's going to make a difference is he? Robson-Kanu? Personally think he's a flash in the pan, never really done anything anywhere but did ok in the Euros for an over-achieving team. If he's played in his preferred position though, then maybe he'll turn out useful. Can't help thinking Brucie's been sucked in by some media hype during a tournament. Gunter? I'm sure he's a good larker. Gutting about Odubajo, I think he was definitely capable of making the step up with relative ease. The lad from France? Don't know owt about him. This is where Bruce needs to earn his sizeable wage. I know the budget is modest, but it can be done. I personally think there's something more of an incentive to succeed against the odds, and it certainly would be at the moment. Hopefully it's driving Bruce on to prove what he can do, and not just to appear wonderfully diplomatic whilst seeking an exit privately. Difficult times at the moment with the sale seemingly dead, injuries, small budget and owners simply not speaking, but it's circumstances like these that can foster a siege mentality in clubs. I think that's what's needed, so I hope Bruce is fully committed and stops talking about the England job (which is a pipe dream). If they re-instated the name to all communications and the badge, and overhauled the membership scheme, I'd join in the fun tomorrow - but there you are. Seems to me that it'll either be a glorious over-achievement, or a season where we simply don't compete. The owners have definitely made sure that the odds are stacked against worselves though, that's for sure. Just hope we make a fist of it, etc.
We've already get plenty of PL experience within the team that got promoted. Huddlestone, Livermore, Snodgrass, Robertson, Dawson, Davies, Diame. Hernandez now knows what the PL is all about - hopefully he comes good this time around. Just hoping we don't suffer anymore injuries. So we don't really need to make masses of additions. I think the freebies are to help pad the squad out.
Our current first 11 is already more expensive than the main 11 that won Leicester the premier league title.
Hernandez, Hal Robson-Kanu,Odemwingie,Diomande and Luer. That's five strikers which regardless of quality is the number a lot of teams have in their squads. Would anyone on here be seriously happy pinning their hopes of staying up on this group?
