This Eden has been on less than 10 minutes and already they've got a cheat, loads of tarps and a shed full of pot plants. If it was really starting from nothing they'd have feck all, not even backpacks and whatever they've been allowed to put in there
This blonde bint in the red hat is pretty fit like but by god is she a feckin annoying flake I like the load who've gone off into the woods to build a proper shelter for when it gets really rough, guy with the long hair and beard has got his head screwed on The rest of the idiots who think a few hay bales and unsecured tarps and a tee-pee covered in flimsy branches are gonna cut it can just blow away once them 70mph winds and freezing sea rains hit, clueless i tell ya, clueless
True. The more the episode went on the more he came across as somewhat stunted in that area. But I still think he's being prudent trying to establish a more robust and protected shelter as what they had at the end of the episode was very flimsy. Not sure the middle of the woods is so great anymore given the potential for widowmaker trees but it is very covered and the trees look established and sturdy. Quite liked the carpenter dude from London, he was just getting on with it, the vet was alright and looked to be doing a good difficult job but a total sop with that girl what did he say to her 'I'm intimidated by you beauty' FFS mate bleeeeurgh, how beta is that you pussy, chef was alright and bagged the fittest girl, the ones messing around playing games in sleeping bags and all the others who seemed to spend the whole episode bitching can get fooked. Shows you how predictable people are really.
I'm very impressed with the first episode, reality tv yes but with a bit of an edge as it's going to get hard work there and people will get pissed off. It's funny how some think it's just a holiday, come Winter they are going to be very pleased with the workers in the group. They haven't sat down and looked at some of the skills available to them, too many want to take charge and are very egotistical.
Yep, good points. I enjoyed it actually, was better than I thought was gonna be The thing with forest guy was that he was clearly the alpha of that group in many ways and also a bit older than other guys there so there were obviously gonna be tensions with younger lads trying to bring him down a peg or two and assert dominance, come January/Feb they'll be carrying him around above their heads in a gilded sedan chair for building that new shelter (or he'll have started a cult in there ) along with the black dude who saw the need to improve their current housing. But those two both had somewhat difficult personalities which made them a little unlikeable for others in the group who were uneasy around them I think. It's interesting how the two blonde girls ended up with the vet and the chef, two guys who had clearly and visibly defined roles and purpose and were obviously pretty driven to do them well. They also had more rounded, accommodating alpha personalities than the older guys I just mentioned who were too abrasive. Shows you what women are looking for in men. The other males like the ones who went out to 'invade' forest dudes territory and pissed him off, then took prominent roles in the vote where he was denied the oil drum and plastics are just lost, purposeless and somewhat expendable at this point so looking to destabilise and unseat the ones who have made a niche for themselves or slotted into an already existing one since they feel weak and also will want the attention of the attractive females at some point. Social dynamics is interesting.
That show about The Somme on BBC2 last night was good, gave a fuller rounded view of what actually happened on the first day, think there are more to come reassessing other key moments there
The first part of Conrad's 'The Secret Agent' was excellent last night. Check it if you didn't watch it.
I'd say 2 personally. Stillmatic was a gem, although not as good as illmatic - which tbh will probably go down as the best hip hop/rap album of all time (if not certainly in the top 3).
Started watching the Expanse, it's got some great space shots. Not so sure about the storyline and the pacing but i will stick at it as i love space

Oh and just finished Silicon Valley season 3. Anyone interested in geeks and comedy it's a pretty fun show (well i liked it). Also shows the problems of trying to start up in the tech industry where software giants are just out to get you all the time
Watched more Penny Dreadful Season 2 Flashback episode showing the origin of a character, brilliant stuff.
