Totally agree, but his resignation statement makes up for everything.

Good riddance Dave. Belgian stooge. Found his conscience about 2.5 years too late.

Just Olly Groome and Mick Everett to go now.

Amazing outbreak of fake hysteria over on CL, as the pitch side buffoon who drowned out the protests finds his conscience about two years too late.

"We have lost one of our own" <laugh> and "Dave is proper Charlton" <doh><doh>

    What took him so long?

We all knew that Duchatelet and Meire were shyte 2 years ago.

Truth is, Lockwood loved the limelight, the free vol au vents and the "prestige". Another Murray-era crawler IMO, part of the problem not a man of principle.

i think you've looked into his working there a bit too much. you have to remember these people still need money to pay their bills. Chris Powell worked under the douche for a few months before letting everyone know what he thought of him.

the other media people, jimmy, matt all worked there for a bit under him before leaving, and then saying what they thought.

it could be the case that he hated them all along but wasnt in a position to be able to say something about it. i cant, i work for last years sponsors so have to keep what i think just to in person.

i give him credit for leaving and releasing a statement - more people will read that than card's stuff. and he's properly laid in to KM too while he's at it

    @Sig

Lockwood only worked for Charlton for 4/5 hours a week, twice a month.

If he had wanted to make a statement against the Regime, he should have spoken up on mic during a match instead of telling protesters to stay off the pitch.

Not 'proper Charlton', more a proper crawler.

yeah, but he had that job well before KM and RD came, and you can fall in to habit.

most people are also inclined to go with the benefit of the doubt. i reckon he has just done this.

it aint like he's started talking flemish and dressed in roland attire (aka kiddy fiddler look).

So what would your response to him be if he was next to you on a protest?

The more staff who abandon ship the better I'd say. I agree with Mike about BDL's cringeworthy style, but as the Voice of Charlton on matchdays he has dealt a blow to Roland. The fact that he stayed so long makes it even more so I'd say. Anything which isolates the loyalists is good IMO.

    Pass the sick bucket Lockwood.

"I have had the privilege of being match day announcer...and dare I say it, the voice of the Valley"

Who wrote this crap, Barbara Cartland ?

Lets recognise it for what it is, an attention seeking stunt from another member of the displaced Murray-era clique.

Mick Everett or Olly Groome next?

Is Roland going to outsource the announcement to Guy Luzon? Bloke had the worst accent and grasp of the English language...

Haven't read the statement - nor neither here nor there regarding the news, but the fans are the voice of the family?

Heard rumour that the Bromley announcer is taking over the job...how funny do you serve an apprenticeship and move up the leagues with this gig then
