Agreed Lenny.... I think I and others are getting better at ignoring him. I don't take him seriously any more thankfully. I must say I would just like to ban him but not possible on this site... I think democracy would win out
He is not important enough to ban - just let him show himself for what he is - he might realise that others of us can discuss and even disagree massively - yet politely

Crossing swords can be good and stimulating so long as not done in a nasty fashion - I doubt either of us ever did more than express our views or criticise those of the other - the stuff of a good debate Good reasoned arguments helps pass the time - but someone who thinks one liners and making sarcastic remarks about everyone else is a debate rather misses the point. Fortunately I think all bar one on here understand that. Even so religion is dicey and you can end up upsetting the very people you do not want to.
Yes - my one swear word on here and you deserved to be called it - shows what it takes to really get under my skin - and that was comments about my private life which was raw and sensitive - I hope you never have to experience what we go through on a daily basis. Tomorrow for example whenwe travel to the Royal Free so that Mrs L has to find out why her heart blood clot has tripled in size despite medication and also has her cancer pills renewed if still stable. As a result I absented myself from here for 6 months until health matters were marginally less critical - till now. You could try a similar absence to give others a rest you know but you wont as you show no empathy or compassion.
There is no justification to call other posters insults like that. Many people have personal situations in their life but do not resort to such low life profanities. How can you criticise others when you are the worst culprit.?

If you honestly believe that one swear word in 5 years against the vile abuse you hand out makes me the bad person so be it - but delete the plural - I swore at only one poster - and that is you - and I think you deserved it at the time. I did admit you had caught me at a very low ebb and normally - like now - I could rise above your vile abuse and taunting. I doubt you will find many others on here living with a person who is dying and whose every day is painful and hard to get through. If there are - they will understand how you managed to break through my normal defences. Had you one shred of decency you would have admitted your behaviour was reprehensible and have apologised but as I say you appear to have the traits of a psychopath - you have no understanding of the personal, emotional and psychological effects of what you say and do. I will not engage with you again on a personal matter. You are entitled to your conviction and will not change - psychopaths are not able to. I come on here and other chat forums to escape from the day to day stress and generally succeed thanks to the kindness of all other posters here. You are in a minority of one
It is not possible to have a discussion with someone who cannot formulate an opinion of his own, but just keeps on repeating the same old soundbites. This is a great pity as it is by listening and evaluating someone else's comments that you might just learn that things are not black and white, but have many areas of grey. There is a saying "Where understanding and communication end, violence begins." Shame that someone cannot communicate.
She makes important points about the University/HE sector... and that our Universities are already feeling the effect. The HE sector in the EU is joined up so students can travel anywhere providing they pay their 'home country' fee. This has attracted a lot of business. The English parliament priced us very high in the market whereas Scotland had kept low fees and attracted many more new EU students. Coupled with this are Erasmus type arrangments where a student can spend part of a year stidying in an other EU Univ. Addtionally and very importantly are the hundreds of millions of Euros of joint research projects... all now under threat... and no no ventures possible. On the ground in Leeds.... a hundred plus staff admin and academic have been made redundant as a direct result of the 'International student' problem. All universites work very hard to attact these students as the bring in important funding streams. This is solid business and we have had a great brand worldwide.... now under threat.
It amazes me that having fought a battle for four years which the UK finally won in the ECJ to be allowed to process transactions in Euros that now this could all be lost. The Euro market is worth about $1 trillion a day, so is vital to London. The case was won on the basis that the UK was part of the single market, not part of the Eurozone. It can be little wonder that the government is talking so much about staying in the single market at whatever cost. None of this was made clear in the run up to the referendum, but now there will have to be a solution.
and money will drive this no doubt about it.... That is why I was so surprised at the outcome... but the ordinary punters are swayed by Farage BoJo and co... I still want free rights of movement..... !!!
Brexiters are putting their fingers in their ears and going lalalalalalalalalalala. We're being told that it's 'democracy in action' and we should 'deal with it' while the whole ****storm brews and we could easily put a halt to it. Basically, if we had a second referendum tomorrow, Remain would win. Why? The lies have been seen through and everyone has realised it's going to be a shambles and cripple this country. Will we stop the madness even if the majority of the population are against it? I very much doubt it now
I doubt that the politicians will want the population to have a say, so it will be down to them to fight their way out of the jungle they parachuted themselves into.
