Freedom of the Press means let them compile their own agenda. Press are the same with everything, not just football.
A good story in the Torygraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...that-stand-between-sam-allardyce-and-the-eng/
This is what I would do if I was in charge at Sunderland. 1) Hold a Monday morning press conference outlining that we don't want to lose Allardyce, his coaches, backroom staff, etc. 2) Estimate how much it will cost to replace Allardyce, sack Bracewell, etc. 3) Inform the media that we've drawn up a shortlist of replacements including Howe, Dyche, Pulis, Ranieri, etc ... if they can do it why can't we? 4) State clearly exactly how much money is available for transfers. 5) Inform the FA that, having done the decent thing, the club will be increasing the amount of compensation daily. In a nutshell, put all the pressure on the FA & Allardyce to act quickly. It may be their dream for England to 'luck' their way to a semi-final humiliation, against a good team, but I don't give a shiny shyte.
The FA are effectively putting Bracewell and the rest out of a job unless they take them all. Allardyce would be well aware of that and, if he doesn't care, will be acting selfishly ....... so much for dignity and loyalty. If they employ them all then they'll owe us compensation for them as well. As I've said, we really need to turn the screw on the FA and also Allardyce by openly advertising his job. If Allardyce goes, and puts his mates on the dole, I'd prefer not to hear his sickly farewell speech about, 'Great club, fantastic supporters, etc ........' Just go away and fulfil your 'dream' of managing England to yet another disastrous campaign.
Im getting fed up with it all now, just gonna wait and see either Sam in his new England shirt or not. Agree though that we should screw the **** out of the FA for maximum compensation as it has totally derailed our pre-season.
quite probable and get a points deduction for making a statement about Sam being interviewed for the post when it was supposed to be confidential.
I agree with Smugs post. BUT We don't have a clue what is going on behind the scenes. When I ran my last company which was a live music venue we had a forum for people to discuss up and coming acts, music, local music etc... The people often discussed how we ran the venue and what was going on behind the scenes. They always got it completely wrong, most of the time when they were talking doom and gloom we were doing things that meant we were getting an act like say Brian May to play in Leamington. But we could not talk about it because if we did we would be in breech of contract. Now I have sold the business and I can say we were really close to getting Prince to play in Leamington and the only reason it did not happen was because the local council would not let him land his helicopter in the local park. If I had mentioned that at the time: 1. Princes agent would have been pissed off and not given us any other good acts and 2. My relationship with the local council would have been a lot more difficult. We will never know the truth, all I can assume is like me the people at SAFC at doing the best thing for the business and the club.
I had a dream last night where the club were linked with corruption and demoted to the Northern League!
I know I was in a cold sweat! Couldn't get a ticket for the Bishop Auckland away game, needed 35 points!
You forget that the posters on here have accumulated 8069 years as CEO's on Premier league clubs mate.
It looks like someone has been reading this forum http://rokerreport.sbnation.com/2016/7/18/12211336/black-cats-analects-fu-fa Here’s a disruptive chain of events to start with: on the 19th of June, the FA were reported to have informed Roy Hodgson to compete in the semi-finals of Euro 2016 or be dismissed. That is tantamount to a vote of no confidence and that is when Sam Allardyce should have been contacted – not a month later; not two weeks after Hodgson’s prepared resignation; and not ten days after a club’s pre-season had started! That is thoughtless and damaging deliberation. Now look at Sunderland’s transfer activity this summer. I’m joking, there isn’t any. But there was a £12m bid for Diafra Sakho and it actually made sense; the Senegalese was a good striker at West Ham United – when Sam Allardyce coached him. But now, would he even want to join a Sunderland without Big Sam? Would any player want to join a club that doesn’t know who its manager will be tomorrow? Would any player want to stay not knowing who their manager will be tomorrow? That sounds damaging, don’t you think? Now, say the FA drag this out and don’t appoint Allardyce immediately. Say they do it next week, or in two weeks. If you’re Ellis Short, you’d be an indescribable oblong of rage, and there’d be little to stop the Chairman from raising the stakes in remuneration. In theory, could he have the club demand a higher sum of money for the additional time taken to appoint a national team coach? Could he even demand a higher figure for every passing day that it takes? He could, if he wanted, and really he should. Or just a coincidence @Smug in Boots
It might not be sam....: The FA are saying they will not be rushed into making a decision (which makes our position really difficult) and Sam Allardyce is the clear favourite. But... Whilst people are throwing money at Sam Allardyce, it happens that the FA have an agreement with Ladbrokes as their "betting partner" - would anyone be that surprised if someone on the inside at the FA is on the take from one of the sponsors and they already know Sam hasn't got the job? It sounds sly and very "conspiracy theorist" but hey - would any of us be that surprised http://www.thefa.com/news/thefa/2016/jun/ladbrokes-strike-deal-with-the-fa-030616
